Sealed Room Idea

I want to construct a sealed room roughly 10x10x7.
Here is my plan. Hydroponics system, either aeroflo or some kind of undercurrent setup. 3 x 600w HPS cooltubes or sealed hoods. I will be running C02 in the room and probably a small portable air conditioner. A 4" 175CFM to pull air through the hoods and a 6" or 4" inine fan attached to a carbon scrubber to filter the air.
Does anybody see any problems with this setup?

I dont know if this counts as a completely sealed system because im drawing air in from outside to cool the hoods and pump the air back out. I just think that this system is easier on the AC because your not putting all that hot air in the room from the lights and it will keep the res temps lower.

Any input would be greatly appreciated for +rep

Couple suggestions: 6" fan for three hoods. If your in a basement, better to cool with inside air. More constant temp and the biggest advantage is no condensation! The cold air in your duct plus the warm air in your room equals LOTS of condensation. Gallons of it dripping on the floor. It was sucking all the humidity out of the room. If you must pull outside air plan to deal with it.

Other than that it sounds just like my room ;)

As legallyflying said, bigger fan. Not sure if 6in will do. You'll need at least 700CFM or so to effectively cool in summer. Good call on the condensation aspect. plantlightinghydroponics.com= best Vortex prices on the net, by far.
How much of the room do you plan to cover with 3x600W? 3'x10' would get very good coverage. Back when I first started indoors I had a similar set up. I ran a 40"x120"(3 sq. meters) scrog with 3x30gallon DWC tubs under it, 6 plants each. Worked very well.

I dont know if this counts as a completely sealed system
Actually it's the definition of a sealed room.Don't forget the dehummer and AC unit. 12000btu unit should work well in there. Buy the dehummer with the remote drain option, those built in buckets are too small for a grow room. They fill/shut off before the lights come back on and humidity soars.

In 10x10 you have room to carve out a veg/mom room and a drying area if you're clever. Good luck.

Thank you everyone. Just some clarifications and comments on my part. I will be pulling in air from inside my house through the hoods and outdoors, not outside to outside as I said before.
I would like to cover a space of 4' x 10' for the 3x600w, even 4x8 will be fine.
No its not going to be a tent, just a custom built room within a room out of 2x2's and panda film. A lot cheaper than a huge tent

A veg room will be a good idea however my plan is to use this setup for 2-3 cycles and then pack it up and move to a different location. I may just build something small outside of the room in a closet or something. I also forgot about drying, haha I will have to figure something out.

+rep to all

Maybe even incorporate 2 ice boxes, one after the 2nd light and one after the 3rd light. That could replace the whole AC problem and just get a 1/4 HP water chiller with an external resevoir to cool the whole tent?

you won't need ice boxes. invest in a nice split air conditioner from haier or some other air conditioner company NOT a samsung or LG. Unless you like just pissing away cash.

Even a cheap window unit or stand alone would work fine...just going to spend a little extra cash on CO2 but that is cheap. You MAY be able to by without any airconditioning but its unlikely. My dehumidifier cranks more heat into the room than my 2 600's do.

Get a nice straight run on your hoses and a 6" would be fine. The flexible aluminum ducting is WAY more efficient than the cheap plastic dryer hose..probably around twice as much flow.
