Scroggy Scrog Progress - LED Platnium p450, HHE 300

I'm close to flipping into Flower. Figured this would be a good time to start a thread on the progress. I'll update with pics as I go. First timer.

Currently Day 39 in Veg

Set up:
4x4 tent with 4 plant scrog in 7 gal pots, all sitting in 3x3 drain try - I'm only growing to a 3x3 footprint because of current light limits. Hope to add cobs soon, but will probably have to wait until next grow attempt.

Lights - Platinum P450, HHE 300
The 450 covers the 3x3. The 300 is pretty small, its pointed at the smallest plant for now. Not sure how I'll use the 300 in flower yet.

Strains - 2 OG kush, 1 Christmas cookies, 1 Northers lights (2 weeks younger than others)

The plants have been topped many times. Now I'm just trying to constantly push the new growth into the empty net squares, its filling in pretty nice. The back left plant lost 2 large branches, so that corner is a bit bare. I salvaged a few clones from them.

How are these looking? Any advice on plant health or on when I should consider flipping?

You're going to soon find out your screen was completely useless. If you haven't flipped yet, you're gonna outgrow the Fuuuuuuh outta the screen. It is WAAAAY too low.

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't flipped yet.
I can still move the screen around if it would be better. I have more of that screen that I can add above as a second layer also.
What do you recommend?

Just one comment... with the standard blue/red LED grow lights. Before you take pictures go into your camera's settings and reduce the "Saturation"/color intensity setting by one. If you want more detailed photos, increase the "Sharpness" setting.

Sorry for the bad burple pics. Here are some new ones with regular light.

I've removed the net for now. Easy to re add it if I go that route.

I'm a first timer grower. I'm not trying to set any records with my yield, just trying to learn and get a good quality product. I chose to attempt a scrog just because it looked like a good way to get a slightly larger yield with fewer plants, but I may be in over my head for the first time
I've trained the plants a bit to help them bush out, topped them many times, and now they seem pretty dense. I've been in veg for 40 days. I'm not in a huge rush, but I thought I'd already be in flower by now.

Can anyone offer some advice on what I should/could do at this point, when should I start the 12/12? I don't really have to scrog. Maybe I can go the tomato cage, or bamboo stick/support rout if that seems better for a beginner.

Your plants wont start flowering until you have a long enough dark period to tell them to flower.

That is what the 12/12 schedule does for your plant.

You will eventually need something to support the branches. Everyone has a different way of achieving this. Do whatever makes sense to you.

If you are in no rush, let the plant stay in the vegetative phase longer, maybe 20 days or more. Than switch the light schedule to what ever you choose. The longer you allow the plant to stay in the vegetative phase, the plant will produce more flowers at the end of flowering. Cannabis is short day / long night flower and it's critical night length is eight hours. With outdoor grows, night gradually comes earlier and for longer.

Unless you are growing an auto flowering strain, choosing when to induce flowering is just a matter of deciding when you want to.

For the sake of information. For photo period dependent strains, when the nodes start alternating sides is when the plant generally is mature enough to flower.
Granted I do not plan on growing an auto flowering strain. Auto flowering strains typically start flowering when the plant is ready regardless of the photo period.

Thank you for the replies guys, really appreciate it.

I ended up flipping into flower on Friday. I've decided to just let them grow up and I'll try to support them with bamboo rods or something similar.

I flipped now mainly because of time, and because of space. I'm taking a 2 week vacation in November, I'll need all of this done, cleaned up and put away for that time. I'll be starting the 2nd attempts after that vaca. Also, my tent is only 6.5 feet, I don't have good options if I run out of space.

I originally started with the intent of making these 4 plants into a scrog. The net in the pictures was added too early, as I got a bit to ahead of myself. I removed the net and was about to put it back. Very limited space made the net and working around it too hard, my tent is in a corner, and I can only access from 2 sides, getting to the back plant, under the net was killing me. The plants seemed to have bushed out pretty well, and the tops are pretty flat. I'm hopeful that I can continue the grow normally with supports rods.

I still have some concerns about the amount of undergrowth and how much I should trim back to promote the top bud growth. I've trimmed a lot back already, lollipoping as I've seen in other examples. I'll take a specific side pic of my biggest girl tonight and see if anyone has specific advice about what to prune off.

The ladies seem to be reacting well so far!

Here is an update after Flower Day 7. Just did a flush. Starting with Bud nutes today. I've done some trimming/lollipoping but looking for advice on how far to take it. They have grown a lot over the last 7 days.

Nice looking plants. You'll be getting bud sites forming inside the plant that'll not get good light through that veg. Looks good though!
