SCROG with autos - vs. topping and LST - experienced please!!

Im aiming to SCROG my autos so that the canopy levels out, but the only journals ive looked at on here are really shit and they are not making me feel assured that its going to be the best technique i can use.

I have some questions:

1) in a regular plant, ive seen people weaving the branches in and out of the mesh screen, does this work the same way with autos or would this create too much stress for a flowering plant, and just really stunt the vigour of the plant (i want my auto to SPREAD over the screen, not just clump up into some hunchback mutant)

2) should i LST the plant first so its full bent over, then place the screen on top......or just try and weave the plant into the mesh as it grows up into it from a seedling?

3) should i TOP the plant and then place the screen on top, a bit like the above question

if anyone has links to their own experience with SCROG with AUTO's then please post them, thanks! :weed:

I have no experience growing Autos but I know that SCROG may not be the best method because you may not have enough time to fill the screen. My suggestion is an early top as well as LST and then just continue LST.

Do not top your Auto unless its in a DWC setup or some kind of fast growing hydro medium. LST. You can def find some sativa dom autos to scrog with. cheers.

it seems 808killaz had comparable results with his topped La Diva, but yes, the LST is my suspected choice. 3 of my autos are sativa dom so i might top one and just see what happens, make it more interesting lol

Could also consider fimming as well as pinching rather than cutting the top off. Less stress that way and grows back faster.
