scrog question

running my first scrog, and I am wondering how you guys handle when to turn to 12/12 light schedule? Do I just wait till the area I am growing in as a bud site in each hole, then flip the lights, or do you let them veg up through the holes, say 4-6 inches before flipping to flower?

I am doing my first SCROG, hell first plant.

I looked at many journals, most people build up bud sites in the Vegatative area.
then put the plant under the SCROG.

The change to the red spectrum under the Flowering lights will cause a stretch,
mine went 15 days from the start before the stretch slowed and bud formation began two days ago!!

In the 17 days I have 20 tops above my SCROG and at least 20-30 potential further bud sites coming up over the next 60 days!!!

The bud sites started mostly 4-6 inches below my SCROG.

As long as I don't fuck up in the next 60 days this bag seed should produce nicely for my first go round.

I won't even guess at weights, who knows when the bud is dried and cured and if I haven't taken any wrong turns. lol

I guess it really matters how much space vertically you have and your lighting.

I also saw quite a few SCROGs in Veg. Areas.

I have one plant in a SCROG in my veg under its own 95 watt T5 fixture.

Its sort of a Bonsai, I normally tie branches down along with super cropping in my veg.
The Bonsai is done under a tight net and I thread the growth up thru the mesh
while stretching it away from other branches.
Clearing space for more nodes to shoot up in different spots.

I have stopped all plant manipulation on my plant in flower.

Heavy indica: flip your screen to flowering once its about 90% full

50-50 hybrid: flip your screen to flowering once its about 70-75% full

stretchy sativa: flip your screen to flowering once its around 55-65% full.

Some sativas will double or triple in size once you put them into flowering and if your screen is already full then what are ya gonna do?
