Scrog details help

Hey yall,
First time here at RIU.. I'm impressed with the crew here.
Former overgrower, current icmager, and long time agricultural worker here.

Got a little scrog goin, and its my first, I'm almost ready to flip. I've done a lot of reading and tried to search, but my questions are specific.

1. Stripping growth beneath the screen... Is it necessary or will the stretch move most of the growth above the screen, I just can't visualize the stretch with everything all twisted and confined.
When is the perfect timing to do this stripping?

2. As the screen fills with new budsites, I am concerned that those new shoots will be too flimsy to support big bud growth (I don't mean physically flopping over)..
Should I let them go for some extra time to thicken the stems, even if it means overfilling the screen, or will it just be a nightmare if I overfill?

Thanks in advance

1. Cut all that stuff off under the screen. I usually wait until 2nd week of flower to do this.
2. Dont over fill the screen. You wont be able to keep a nice canopy and that is the point of the scrog. You've got 10 weeks of flowering. The shoots will thicken and you will be fine.

Cleaning up under the screen is not necessary but is well advised to do. So little light will get through the canopy that it is a waste of the plants energy to let it to continue to grow. I like to remove any small shoots that look like they wont make it to the screen. These are my clones. I do leave as many of the fan leafs as possible. If you are in a high humidity area mold can be an issue so clean up under the screen and/or blow a fan under the screen. I like to do the majority of this under screen cutting a few days before the 12/12 switch after which I keep my eyes open for any new shoots or developing popcorn buds and they get culled.
