ive been reading about this method and it seems interesting.
i do have a question though.
ill try to be clear
if you cloned and veged in one room w/t-5s
and flowered in another
Instead of swithing out bulbs
how do you go about filling the canopy correctly or can you?
if you put say a 4 week veged clones at 9 inches under a screen immediately @ 12/12
would it still work ?
would the plant stretch and fill the canopy ....
or do you need that veg time w/ the t-5s (or metal halide) spec light under the screen to get the correct growth?

hey Therellas!
I'm on my first grow now, and I jumped right into scrog. I had a lot of the same questions you have now, and I think the one resource that answered almost all of my questions was by a dude that goes by greenmonster714. It's been re-posted on a few community forums around, including rollitup, but I'll provide the think to the original author's post, greenmonster714. The Scrog Method- Give that a good read!

To try and answer your question- If you attach the screen to the growing medium (the pot of soil or DWC bucket), you can move the whole thing together from the CFL lighting to the HPS lighting. set the screen above the pot anywhere between 4"-12", depending on how much space you have. Then let the plant grow up into the screen. When the screen is about 50-70% full, throw it into 12/12 and the stretch fills it up the rest of the way.

I would say to veg for at least a week under the screen with 18/6 lighting (clf or hps) before throwing it into 12/12 flower. This gives the plant enough time to really grow INTO the screen, which is the whole reason of doing scrog in the first place. you are trying to grow a plant horizontally to avoid height, yet still get giants plants to produce giant yeilds. get it? Check out my scrog grow journal, maybe this will help you out too!

thanks man.
it was the nuance of each plant having its own screen
and being able to move them that was escaping me i guess.
but you cleared it up.
i only have a few plants and tried lst and it worked like a champ.
i like that so you don't have to grow a ton lol
even though i would like to.
if I ever attempt this w/ many plants it will probably be a lst rig for each plant .
thanks again
