You would not like my Poly Shunks then.

Poly Shunk 1 {Triangle Kush Cookies X Nightcap} X Shit/Skunk.

Poly Shunk 1.5 {Triangle Kush Cookies X Nightcap X Sinmint} X Shit/Skunk.

Then when you add in the crosses I have made with them.

(Ass Cheese {Cindy's Blue Cheese X Donkey Kong} X {Powernap X Sinmint Cookies}) X Poly Shunk 1.5.

Skunk X Shit/Skunk X Poly Shunk 1.

(Gorille de Raisin X {Powernap X Sinmint Cookies}) X {Afghani X Shit/Skunk}

Ass Cheese X {Blue Shiva X Blue Shark}

{Ass Cheese X {Powernap X Sinmint Cookies} X [Blue Shiva X Blue Shark}

I could go on, but you get the picture.
Yes.
And they sound great.
But it would be a disservice to call them anything else.
Especially selling them as something else.
We're all chuckers here.
I definitely wouldnt call myself a "breeder" by any stretch of the imagination.
Seed packets should be like food packets.
They need all the ingredients stated.

and they call this breeding? No wonder why strains are disappearing and replaced with new crosses. I wish breeding is as simple as that.
I was answering a question about how they would produce that many seeds. The breeding is in selecting the parents. Why most strains disappear is the market moves on. My pro grower friends always looking for that hot new strain. People are fickle. Lots of good strains out there, but they want only what is hot at the moment. That is also why breeders don't do f8's. By the time they did all that work, folks would have changed their mind on what to grow. Plus most breeders are just like the rest of us, they are trying to keep their head above water.

A friend made the Shit/Skunk seeds. He sells just enough to cover postage and make a little of his seed money back. 80 seeds {counting freebies} for $110. I was stoked he included me. And I knew exactly what they were.

But there are lots of gentlemen breeders like him who send out testers free of charge to any who ask.

But most of my strains are from gifted seeds. My advice is to make lots of friends on here. You make seeds and give to your friends. They will make seeds and give to you.

Its my point all along man.
Why get seeds that claim to be something they're not. When you can get the same kind of seeds from like minded individuals.

If i got some of your friends seeds today. Then pollinated my plant. Then called them Shit. Sold them as Shit. And told you it was the same strain, as your friends. Then in my opinion its a total disservice, and so blatantly disrespectful to the hard work your friend put in.

Thats my point in all this.
The last couple decades have just gone spastic.

That is true. One of the reasons I change the names is so I throw no shade on the breeder's name.

too much record keeping for me. i feminize a branch on the plant i want pollen from, wait till the plant i want to get seeds from is starting to flower, and dust a good sized branch. that's it, one donor, one seed producer. maybe in the future if i get two outstanding strains i might cross them, but the parent strains of both will just be in the files somewhere. i can look it up if i need to know, or can't remember...what we were talking about?......

The situation my situation is in keeps me from doing anything weed related around the house. Old fashioned crosses is the only way I can make seeds. Since I smoke so little, the seeds are as important to me as the flowers. Variety is the spice of life, right?

You don't need thousands of plants sheesh!
You think that's how grampa bred the Angus? Patty pan squash?
This has been done since the Paleolithic era by nomads and dirt worshipers.
Read Carol Deppe " how to breed your own vegetable varieties". She's a Harvard PhD in Biology, geneticist, farmer and a professional breeder.
She'll show ya how to get a true breeding strain with a couple dozen plants. (Edit at a time).
There's no magic here or special talent.
Any body with a spare room and a green thumb can pull it off.

I think ive clearly stated my point of view enough dude.
Im not going to debate it any further.

I want to buy seeds.
But finding the right ones is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

For examples sake. Some genuine Skunk#1 seeds are what ive been after forever, to introduce to my seeds.
But who sells GENUINE Skunk#1 seeds these days?

Ive been really tempted to buy "SHIT" and "Shark Shock" before. But are they actually seeds from the original parent cuttings? Or just under a different name?
"White Shark" is my favourite strain of all time. Ive wanted some seeds for ages. Been tempted by "Shark Shock". But does the Shark Shock cutting come from the same batch of seeds as White Shark? I havnt found anywhere that says so.

And on the topic of more distant seeds, like seeds from landraces. Who doesnt want some of them.
According to seed finder https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Shark_Shock/Mr_Nice_Seedbank/ it is produced by Mr nice seeds and reg seeds are available. Why don't you email Mr nice seeds and ask the Q's you have?

The shit that Larry I grow from our aussie chucker mate used the parents of Shit for his shit linage. Not the real deal but the parent strains of.

Dude, you're missing the point.

We're not breeders or at least I don't pretend I'm a breeder (maybe when it becomes federally legal). As you have already pointed out, true breeders will run hundreds/thousands seed run (this process is culled culling which would require time and space). We leave the breeding to the breeders, we just want stable feminized seeds for production.

What is feminized seeds? Seeds from selfied female plant.
Why we buy feminized seeds? Is it for breeding? Is it to hunt for phenos? Obviously the answer is clear, its not for breeding and it's not for pheno hunting

We buy feminized seeds for 2 reasons

1. Guaranteed female plants
2. To get the same result, 'production wise' just like the mother.

Our goal is simple...plant it, grow it, harvest it, and smoke it (or eat it if you will)….then buy more seeds (if cloning is not an option).

That's it.

Why is it hard for breeders to give us say an F8 feminized seeds or F16? You know why? Because in my honest opinion, they don't know jack shit how to do real breeding.

All those original strains, if they were in the hand of serious breeders (orchid breeders for example), we would be hearing F100 by now. Hybrid going through heterosis is not a strain simple as that.
The fem seeds I get off mates are not S1's but from colloidal silver. Not sure of the ones ive gotten from the seed banks/breeders. To be honest I'm not really fussed. They have been similar to what they say they should be.
I haven't grown many multiple's of the same strain using fem seeds from seedbanks but so far ive found them to be fairly similar and consistent with only slight differences.

I for one am thankful for breeders, seedbanks and chucker's. especially thankful to mates on here who either send out free seeds or charge bugger all for them.
In the short time ive been on RIU ive received over 200 seeds for free and around 80 for cheap, cheap, cheap. And that's with me turning down some offers and doesn't include the freebies the advertisers do like the Vault (I just received 10 from them for free a few days ago)

The cannabis community is such a sharing, helpful group.

Im surprised by now, you havnt realized Shantibaba is one of my favourite breeders of all time. Just look at all that guys genes still getting around.

Love them, or hate them. But without breeders like-

Shantibaba
Arjan Gold
The Haze Brothers
Sam the Skunk Man

We just wouldnt have the same strains today.
These guys beat EVERYONE to the chase.

A couple like Shantibaba are still being passionate about what they do.
But i want his strains from 20years ago. Because to me, they were memorable.

Until i can find seeds with very similar phenos. Im happy swapping seeds with other friends.
To me sharing seeds with other growers is part of the fun. Its also a lot of the reason i havnt bothered buying. Because i havnt needed to.
But there are seeds you keep, and seeds you dont. And the ones you do keep should be treated nicely.

damn ive lost/ thrown out some good seeds over the years.
My dad had a very nice selection dating from the late 60s to 2000's but they in the main got confiscated by the Poo Poo.

Ive got some seeds of an old aussie heirloom strain (hope I'm using that term correctly) Aussie Blue but the Thai in it is very strong in the heavy sativa pheno (the one you want). If love to give those to someone who wold love to work them and stabilize the hermi trait in the Thai. I cannot grow them were I am now but it would be great to know they are still around and being shared about.

he should still have the parents BTW.
." I received a two-year term of imprisonment in Ticino. (However, I still have all the mother and father plants.) Only a handful of other seed producers have faced the courts, and hundreds of cases remain unresolved. "

from here: https://www.mrnice.nl/dhtml/history_p2.php
Great link dude.
I think whats mentioned in the first page, about breeders and seedbanks is exactly whats going on. Ive always respected these guys for thinking the same way as well.

I think i will email tomorrow tbh. Im really interested.

Because all ive ever heard (whether true or false) is Arijan stole the parent plants when the group split. Claimed copyright ownership of sorts. Then bought Shanti etc out of the company. Also heard its why GHSC only sell feminized now.(Shanti took the dads) And the cuts are all GHSC have.

Itd be great if Shanti still had the same parents around.
Thanks for the link bro :P

I'll email tomorrow.
If i get some good info from them (if they bother responding). Ill pm you, and let you know :peace:
Emailing Mr Nice tomorrow. For shizzle.
Thanks.

Even when I take the shittest bagweed full of seeds here, I get awesome weed when I grow them out and process the flowers properly.
Being from a large landrace there may be some slight variation between plants, but the effects and flavours are largely the same.
You open a bag of real Swazi and the liquorice pong is so strong it nearly puts you off at first. Then it envelops your brain like a warm blanket.
