a 4 FOOT rise in sea Level is nothing, There have been 60 ft increases in a fairly short time.

Imagine a 4 foot drop in sea level. Which really would be worse?

The only way the sea can lower that much is by bitter cold and locking a lot of Ice, No shpping no harbors. A raise in sea level? No shipping no harbors.

And remember this is not including the tide, So, back to rise,

For 4 feet rise we have add between 1 and 40 feet of tide world wide,

For a visual, now add raging storm surge.

Now think about 630 million people world wide that live within 30 feet of sea level. In 150 years that will be over a billion,

4 feet of sea rise will kill the global economy if something is not done,

But doing anything about Man-made will not reverse this, It is gonna happen, We have to adapt, If an Ice shelf breaks it will displace the entire ocean somewhat. It is more dense than sea ice and sits deeper. And there are a lot of Ice Shelves around the world.

Where ie is Sky's house now?

The climate changes, we precess in our orbit one full day in a lifetime.

In our lifetime, the seasons begin a full day earlier than when we were born.

That changes the climate. And the ice does melt. It has before and they think at one point in all this, Ice covered the entire world.

But, the sun is getting warmer and warmer in the main sequence over the 100K year periods, and within that it there is waxe and wan in intensity. Some cycles we know and surely some we do not.

The leap is to blame Man for power and guilt.

But, to DO SOMETHING may just make it worse. That is OK. Then trillions will be spent to correct the folly of our time, still blaming humans for the weather.

I once read that the earth orbit around the Sun is consistently changing due to the intensity/weakness of the gravitational pull as it is further away and closer to the Sun. Each time it is "thrown away" from the Sun, it's angle is changed slightly, causing this slight change in season, completely changing the months we have each seasons, over 100ks of years of course.

Best way to explain is if you mapped out the earth orbit around the Sun, the "start" point of the orbit would be slightly changed each year until it has made a full rotation of orbits around the Sun and back to its original position.

Yes, there is no evidence to that one either,

So it fits right in. :)
Tell it to an ER doc.
Or anyone who pays attention in a large city.

Do I need a proof about a bear's intent?
By the time i start i'm lunch

How's that compute> yeah i remembered that. you never answered did ya?

Yep, when we integrate the differentials to include the wobble of the poles and the effect of the moon, we see a 21, 000 year period or one day of precession every 56 or so years.

Oh come on. Read the studies of this. All an illusion.

Nothing in nature is static, nothing. Everything changes in the natural world constantly, if it didn't all life would be lost.

you know that kushy condo you had?:fire:

Can't build another one, eh? How stupid are you? Do you understand any flooding would result in rebuilding? Which would be cause for a HUGE increase in the economy. We need some climate change just so new jobs can be created.

Sorry, but even though a huge natural disaster would create many jobs, the end result would actually be less wealth and resources for all. Destroying a home and then hiring people to rebuild and buying materials is actually a destructive event. I know that seems contradictory to what may seem common sense, but it's true.

No, seriously, we're all gonna die. No one lives forever. When you die, none of this will matter.
I figured that one out a few weeks back. It's funny how I went to funerals for decades and never cottoned on. Denial runs deep my furrie friend.

btw: it will matter, even if you don't believe it. Our deeds echo in eternity. Or something like that.

NASA isn't going to be able to launch anything anyway, so why have them? The Russians aren't going to let us use their rocket buses anymore, guess they got mad and took their ball home for some reason.

I have worked in the ER for many years. I can tell you with certainty that full moons bring the traumas and the crazies in. I don't know why, certainly not causation, but most definitely correlation.

Afterthought: also Mondays are busy, and days after holidays, especially the Monday after the holidays. And I work near Detroit, so sporting events are always busy nights as well. Lots of inebriated individuals assaulting each other at bars...

Someday our sun will burn out. And then none of this will mean anything.
