Schars first ever grow! CFL Power

Ok so I have officially started growing in the cabinet after months of research and planning. (not to mention i got my roomate so excited he wants to do a cabinet now too.)

The cabinet is 30w X 30H X 19D and it has some basic white counter top self adhesive liner on the top bottom and doors. The side is the same stuff only in silver (A lot of the materials for the cabinet were free/scavenged) My good friend eBaked got me all the electrical supplies for $0 so I was able to run 4 strands each with a Y splitter. (which gives me 8 bulbs total for all you math drop outs)

Running two 120mm CPU fans (intake & exhaust) and they have three speed settings slow, medium, and high. They hook into a 400W CPU power supply which gives me the option to add more fans if needed. I also have a 10" oscilating fan inside for circulation.

Running from each fan I have the basic home dryer flex hose and the section for the intake is set up near my humidifer which keeps things nice and humid here in the dry north. (I am able to fine control the humidity level using diffrent fan speed combinations)

I was also able to obtain special reflective high heat tape that i put around the cabinet to help seal/light proof it.

I am growing Northern Lights and plan on using LST and topping to help keep her controlled. Hopefully all the planning by me and eBaked will help this project be successfull.

Either way this is the place to watch it all go down! Feel free to post advice, tips or to just straight heckle me :hump::joint::hump:

Is that cabinet up on the wall? Looks like it's next to the TV. LOL Make sure you keep the cat away from your babies. My cats like to chew on the leaves of my plants.

Thanks all, ya the space is not very large but for the first few times it should be good. It will help me get confident in LST and topping. eBaked and I are already planning a much larger cabinet for the next build and that way this smaller one can be a veg cabinet. No the cabinet is in my closet shut off from the rest of my room and cat lol. Ya he is a curioius little bastard and was around constantly during the build phase, but i keep him away from it now that things are underway.

*Edit* Forgot to add the latest picture, this is from the 19th she was planted on the 14th

hey all just a quick picture update to post

Basically still giving her plain ph neutral water using my moisture meter for referance i also added two more 30w 6500k bulbs now that she is a bit bigger. She is looking really nice and healthy green, so things look good!

Hey all,

Today is the 19th day of veg for this grow and today i decided to finally start LST. So far she is still getting regular distilled water when she needs it. Other then that she is coming along real nicely. Here are some pictures of the recent growth and start of the LST

Hey all,

It has been a while since my last update, lots going on so not much time to do the pictures and write up thing. I have been dealing with a magnesium def (from what i can tell through research and picture taking) so i have been mixing in 1tsp of epsom salts with each feeding, and have also been doing a bit of foliar feeding. So far it seems to have helped.

She is quite trained now bending out to the edge of the pot and starting to turn. But she is getting pretty large and i will need to switch to flowering soon due to height problems.

Here are a few pics I just took, for the most part she looks good and am trying not to mess with her to bad. Like I said the epsom salts look to be staving off the mag def.

Hey all,

Another long period between updates mainly because I am a lazy stoner, also my computer is a peice of shit and doesnt like to work consistantly. Anyway these pics are from today and it is the start of week2 flower. She is looking good, really taking to the light change. Was also able to confirm her as female so it's all :hump: from here.

Nothing to special I do one watering with full strength MG bloom nutes and the next watering with just plain water. Seeing as how the plant isnt dead yet things are going well hahaha. Can't wait to start seeing some buds!!

Hey all,

So things arestarting to look a bit more like weed now that I am starting into week 4. I have really been keeping it simple using my moisture meter to tell me when to water and then i just do one feeding with some generic liquid plant food 5-15-5 and the next wattering is done with PH balanced tap water. Seeing as how this is my first attempt I am very happy with the progress and am shooting for a goal weight of 4 ounces and will be stoked for anything above that. She is also really starting to smell great! Nice fresh weed smell filling my room. It is going to be interesting to compare my first grow results with my roomate who i inspired to start growing. (he is doing super silver haze)

Hopefully this is the start of a more regular update showing some nice buds.
