SayWords 1st grow, seven plants

alright first thread. I got these as seedlings on october 4th, so they're about three and a half weeks old. seven plants, using cfls (3 200w, and 3 or 4 100w). but will be getting something more expensive after halloween (my girl's payday). i'll update this beezy so stay tuned.

my girl accidentally moved the pot while it was tied to something for the low stress training and she ripped off the whole top leafset. fuckin shitty.





the lights are set up a lot better now than they were in this pic. i was in the middle of switchin up lightbulbs

i started lsting them with twine, but shit sucked so i move on to hooks made out of pieces from metal hangers. way easier. anyways ANY AND ALL CRITS/ADVICE WANTED. this is my first grow and i had no idea what i was doing when i started and i still dont know all that much.

and forgot to say its bagseed. dont know what i have.

theyre lookin nice. gettin bigger. i havent added any nutes or anything wierd because i dont know what i'm doin. but i am doin my best to bush them out as much as possible. it seems to be working.



anyone know why these leaves are curling up? is it the strain or is it more because of the heat of the lights? i keep them pretty close.







i use spray paint to counter the weight the lights. its the easiest way to set it up so i can adjust em and stuff easily.

anyways, tell me what u think. and any recomendations for nutes or anything?

can anyone tell me if those skinny leaves turning up is a bad thing? or if its part of the strain maybe? They're almost 4 weeks old now happy as ever

alright so i've had these babies just about a month. we transplanted the last four today and they're all pretty much lookin good. a couple bad spots on some of the leaves but im not worried. i still haven't added any nutes. i've been wanting to get some. i dont really know what to get. foxfarm grow big or whatever and then tigerbloom for flower? thats what im thinkin i guess

i still dont know how to fix the rolling of leaves on this plant. this one only.

so yesturday i came to the decision that i wanted to veg these for twelve weeks after reading someone's post that said vegging 12 weeks doubled their yield. SOOOOO i have decided to take a clipping from each plant and clone them or whatever, and throw the clones right into 12/12 after about 2ish weeks of 24 hour light for them to root and such. Once they show sex, I will remove all the males of the bunch so i can maximize my space. I will then probably take more clones from all the females so i can get those started while these are vegging. they plants are only a month old, which might be a lil young for cloning already, i dont know. i dont know if i did the cloning right either. oh well. i went to the hydro store today and got some nutes finally, mostly organic, and i got the clone home thing and some rooting gel stuff. heres flickies

Hey man nice journal....surprised you haven't gotten any feedback. Those "seedlings" look like clones to me. Were they grown from seed? Some damn tight internodal spacing on those. I know nothing about LST'ing so I can't help ya with that. Looks like a mostly Indica strain to me, but I'm guessing. Also, it's been twenty years since I cloned anything but from the look sof what you have going there it look slike you did a good job. Not sure why that one keeps curling, check the FAQ's. Looks like heat stress to me though. Only suggestion I would make is to get some stronger lights, especially come bud time. I would get at least a 400 watt HPS setup. And if you veg those 12 weeks they are going to be huge. Then you are definitely going to need ALOT more light. good luck.

damn thanks for the love man. maybe i shouldnt veg them for quite that long then. i'm thinkin i'm gonna get either a 400 or 600 w hps pretty soon. yes those plants were grown from seed, my homie planted like 55 seeds in his back yard, a ton of them sprouted but he decided he didnt want to actually commit to growing them, so i took about ten out of his yard when they were about 2 or 3 inches tall. so yes, they're from seed. apreciate all the feedback.

Oh and with LST, something I have never done, maybe you can veg them for 12 weeks because I think with LST the plant grows more laterally than vertically because you keep tying it back...is that correct? But you're still gonna want stronger lights for all those bud sites. Hopefully you will have a good female/male ratio.

the clones look pretty shitty but what can u do. it turns out the heat pad has an auto turn off setting, so it turns off after an hour, so we have to constantly flick the switch every time we think about it.

thanks for the encouragement guys. so check it. my girl and i went halfzies on a big ass baby cradle from good will, looks like its brand new for seventy bux. so we got it of course, could probably fit 12 plants easily in there. we also ordered a 600w hps today, so should get that in a week or so. heres the setup with the new cradle. the white "walls" are like stirefome board from the dollar store.i fuckin broke four out of the nine cfl's that i had when i was redoing the lighting cuz i was high i guess. i was pissed but my girl vacuumed it up for me.

what are they called? how much are they and where do i get'em? lol

anyway i'm enviuos of your bushy plants. i'm still only a week into vegging and i've been on a 24/7 light schedule for only 2 days now. my plant is tall and skinny but since the new light schedule it seems to be getting darker green and broader leaves i guess.

thanks man. those Y things are like 2 bux each at ace hardware or any hardware store. they plug into another piece that plugs into the socket. i use extension cords that drap across the grow space to hang the lights from. ya dig?

they are really pretty and bushy bro.
although it may be really early, i think mine may be indica too.

Hey that's what girlfriends are for! Haha, sounds like a nice gal that she would clean that shit up for ya. Pretty funky setup. Not sure I would have plunked down 70 bucks for a crib though bro. for like 50 bucks more you could have gotten a 4x4x6.5 grow tent. Good job on getting the 600 watt hps. Where did you get it from? Does it have a digital ballast too? I think I see some signs of nute deficiency on a couple of those plants, you may want to add some nutes to your regular watering schedule.

yeah DC, i was wondering it that was nute deficiency. they're lookin pretty shitty lately. i've only fed them once, and it was a half dose, i watered yesturday and will feed tomorrow. and i thought the crib was a well worth it investment. you can easily fit 12-14 plants in that beast, which u couldnt really do with a grow tent. and when you go halfzies, it's only 35 bux really. right? that's how i talk myself into buying expensive shit. lol
