Sannies Extrema's stretch?

I have 2 extrema's that are 2 weeks into flower. They were vegged 4 weeks under cfl's and a 250mh light. They are flowering under 400hps. I topped them to get 4 mains (Uncle Bens). Even with the topping, I flipped the switch when they were right at 11 an 12 inches tall. These fuckers are damn near 3 feet tall after 15 days! I have never had a plant stretch like this. Just curious if anyone has grown this, what should I expect, and when does the stretching stop?

Every extrema I have ever grown hermied. I always chalked it up as an error. My room is so dialed in now, I can say it's the strain. Though very good, it will herm.

This was and is the only hermie strain I've ever had in many years of growing.

I've seen the reports but it's funny because when I grew it out mine have had no issues. Even with a stressful room somewhat. I think I got lucky. Actually, there was one issue - one was a complete male.

Unfortunately I didn't think to keep it.

Yes, Extrema is an extremely stretchy strain.
You definitely need to train or supercrop her in veg.
Don't feel bad, I found out the hard way, too.

As for me, I grew out a 5 pack of feminized Extrema's, everybody was a girl, and there were no hermies.
Overall, it's a decent strain, but I prefer the Anesthesia at Sannies.

I grew out anesthesia a couple years ago and it was bad ass.
I recommended it to everyone on rollitup.
I then grew out 3 packs looking for a mother and to my surprise
it was like a different plant almost being much more herijuana dominant
unlike the lighter green tasty super tight nugs that also yielded better the previous run. Still good but a step down to be sure.

My big concern is I have a low ceiling of 5 feet, then you throw in the light and the size of the pot and there is less height. I aim for plants 30 inches and under. Works great fro me as I do train my plants. ( topping,LST) I thought topping cut back on stretch. Oh well! Anyway, 2 weeks in flower and no herm issues yet. If the lanky girl fills out with some decent bud I will be happy!!

In a tent w/ a fem Herijuana, both that and the Extrema had extreme stretch, so supercropping was used to keep them away from the 400 hps. The problem was that by around week 6, the tops were heavy and the bends away from the main stems made the plants fall all over themselves. Just a mess to straighten out - there was even some bud rot in the Extrema that cost one of the bigger colas - that and Blue OG [G 13] are the only indoor plants in 4 years to ever have rot. By the end, they were considered a pain in the ass grow, which would have been ok had the buzz of either been all they were advertised to be. They both were not. Not bad, but neither had the 'knock out' that was expected.

There are 4 beans of each unused, but factor in the leafyness and poor taste of the Extrema [better buzz], I doubt those 8 beans will ever be used. Like I say, not bad. But there's a huge amount of 'not bad' out there. The exceptional 'knock out' was what was seeked in purchasing both strains, and in that regard, they both fell far short.

I had an extrema I harvested a couple months ago. It also was a bit stretchy, but stacked some nice buds in the end. I had no hermie issues thankfully, and it yeilded ok I'd say. Some very dank buds, that strangly enough tasted and smelled like fresh cucumber.

Well I only had the one female plant so I couldn't tell ya if that is common, or a freak pheno. It was crazy how much it actually smelled like a fresh cut cucumber.

Mine smelled pretty skunky - border line road kill at one point but it developed some earthy undertones. Smells awesome really. Hits you much harder between the eyes than straight Herijuana. After a couple months cure it really starts to shine. Not as good pain relief for my keeper pheno. But a nice chill out and watch a movie kind of smoke.

I grew out a freebie from Sannies that was a cross of Extrema and Herbei. I topped early and used a lot of twisty ties to get vertical for the T5 setup. Was worried that it wouldn't amount to much but the last 2 weeks of flowering (8 weeks total) under a 600W HPS paid off. I only have 2 Sugarpunch seeds left and everytime I go to his site he is out...remember last time he had it in stock?

I have 2 Extremas going now for 6 weeks in veg. Both are very slow growers but are about 2' high with 8 nodes. My plan is to super crop but at their growth rate it will be a long time. The stretch is going to be a bit of a hassle but should be controllable in my 3x3x60 tent. I was very excited when I ordered these and looked forward to growing them out but now not so much. Just not impressed with them and 1 has some leaf deformities. I also have some Choc Rain, Heri IBL, and Lady Cane. I think the Lady Cane will be next and I will order some Anethesia on a few recommendations. Like everyone else I too am waiting on the Sugar Punch.

I will have some pics in my journal soon but right now I am finishing a run of LSD and Black Russian. What gets me is that I planted the 2 Extremas on Sept 1 on the same day I took cuts from the LSD and BR. The cuts have damn near caught up to the Extremas and at this rate will surpass them in about 2 weeks. It takes me 2 weeks to get roots on my cuts and these were planted about 3 weeks after the Extremas.

I have some extremas 3 weeks in veg and I agree on the slow growth. I also had 1 of the 5 plants with a leaf mutation as well and tossed that one out. Of the 4 remaining 3 are looking very healthy, just slow growth. Still very excited about the strain though. Just hoping to find a good chem dominant keeper. Wish me luck haha.

My keeper is definitely chem dom. No issues with slow growth in veg. Not the most vigorous plant in the room, but not lagging behind everything else either. Yields heavy. Vigorous in flower.
