Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Wait , i recall talking to babybud about this , i tested both input and output sides of the driver. My multimeter only does DC so i know i checked the output on the driver to the strips....it was about 200w. 8.7 amps rings a bell but i could be wrong. 23 volts ish

My 36v 185 does not say max wattage like the 24v150 or 24v185. The 24v150 say max 180W and the 24v185 say max 200w. The 36v185 pulls about the same power at the wall as my 24v150.

@getogrow I believe you said 220w at the wall and 200w out of the driver. Dont recall the volts/amps

so it seems they are underrated on the revision 01 or whatever we got. Does your 36v say rev 00? an does both your 24v's say rev 01?

now that i do the math , the "650 watt" bar lights i got from meijui are using inventronics 600 watt drivers. They are pulling about 630w from the wall so the most they can be is about 585 watts ish at 93% efficiency. i dont like that. If they would have labeled them 600watts then i would be happy but i dont appreciate not getting the meanwells they were supposed to send.... rant over , sorry guys.

36v185waa is rev 00..... 24v150wda is rev 01 and 24v185waa is rev 01

Did you ask them why you got a different driver than advertised?

Yes and olivias answer was on par with any ol shitty light salemen. I would have sent them back for her lack of knowledge but overall , i know i got a great deal.
She tells me and i quote "you ordered 2 lights so we had to use the inventronics driver so you can daisy chain them together" "The meanwells cannot be daisy chained" I told her she was wrong. I informed her that most folks would send the light back with some no name ass driver on there but im tired of playing with mejui. i already waited 6 weeks for my order to get here .... When i ordered them i had no idea what an led was..... now ive learned a LOT. I suspect the drivers are going to be fine at 600 watts each. I also suspect the drivers are almost as good as meanwells. Supposedly they also have a 7 year warranty and run at over 90% efficiency. I decided it was probably best for me to keep these vs taking 6-12 more weeks to send the meanwells.
I got the 8 bar strip lights from them with lm301h diodes for about a buck a watt. The connectors on the ends of the strips are junk and you need to pay very close attention when plugging them into the bars. (straighten them out before even trying to plug them in will save some stress)

I may even rebuild their fixture with better connectors and wiring eventually but probably not.

Inventronics is a known name. HLG has switched from Meanwell to Inventronics if that makes you feel any better.

Not any more it dont matter but thank you , yes that makes a tiny bit of difference. specially for a newb. I , personally am over the name brands , a legit datasheet is all i need. A newb is simply not going to buy anything without meanwell on it without advice. Thats the brand "you guys" boast the most so its what we are going to buy.
I posted a shitty driver to buy from ebay but i never got the answer i was looking for so i assumed it wouldnt work. now i know better. 24vdc is 24vdc no matter what. Of course there are a bunch of variables to consider but overall 24 is 24.

It was probably my own fault , i prolly worded it like i knew what i was doing....im not sure.

Now i have a much better understanding of the whole subject and im running meanwells, deltas and inventronics with no issues. (all 3 are over 90% efficient)

Just a heads up that the Samsung M-series strips are back on sale for $0.69-0.83 at Arrow. Not as efficient as the H/F series as they use the LM561B diodes but they are still a good budget option for smaller/cheaper builds. They are 540-720ma @ 26v max. I’m running them soft at around 7-10w/strip.

$0.69 - 24 diode 3000K
$0.83 - 32 diode 3000K
$0.83 - 32 diode 3500K

What about those f-strips double row? Anything in 4000k?

That's unfortunate, how many watts do run per puck?
I haven’t done much with them, I will check again but I want to say they are 700mA nominal, says 750mA max on them, so at 46 volts would be about 35 watts. I am going to mount them on a sheet of plate and put them under cabinet above my germination domes, put away the t5. I was going to run them maybe 50%. Run 4 and get about 60 watts type of thing. Will end up running a 100w delta on 4 or 5.

influx Linear are on sale again too. i stocked up last time they went on sale. they are using LM301A so not quite as good as B/H but better than the 561 series. these are rated to 1.7a and test is at 1.3. if you plug them into the samsung calculator they are almost 190 lm/w @ 1a.

single row 2 ft - L04 - 48 diodes
$1.43 - 3500K

double row 2 ft - L09 - 96 diodes
$2.76 - 3500K
$2.76 - 4000K

was just about to grab 50 more of the 5000K single rows (just bc there is no tariff on those for some reason) i had them in my cart but they just jumped back up in price :(

they also have the S02 1 footers in 3000K for $0.80 each if anyone wants them for a smaller build.

for flower I agree 100%. i just grabbed those L04 for some cheap veg fixtures (and a table lamp lol).
After rigging up 16x8 blux eb slim strips for around 1200w i learnt that im not going to build anything with less than 20w per board/strip, its just not worth the hassle to me. On top of that the eb slims wouldnt take 1mm wire (too thick) nor .75mm wire (copper strand were to slim and flimsy and no solidcore in my country) so i had to regaugw them manually for the whole build. Next build i got 28 solstrips (3 channels each) thats almost 150 connections but at least the connectors should take normal wire.
