Yes please on the info. Also, what driver for 6 of the strips would work best? Do u suggest any UV or reds to add? Thanks.

For 6 strips you want to use the Meanwell HLG-240H-48B. Wire them in parallel, which is easy with the Wago connectors.

With these 3000k strips I don't feel the need to add any red, but I'm just on my first run with them. My plants are looking good though, I'll post a pic soon.

I just made a long post with all the links and instructions, but inserting an image at the end ruined it all. I can't get it back now. Maybe I'll try again later. Wow. Super lame website error.

A good lesson in learning I suppose. I've had this happen too many times to me. If I'm going to add pics to a long post, remember from now on, to highlight and copy your text before trying to insert the images so if unfortunately, your work is all deleted, it's a simple right click and paste away.

I built this unit yesterday and since I can't show it to anyone personally, I am going to show it off here instead. It was very helpful for me to look at other builds and there is a ton of information on this website so thanks everyone.

Overall Dimensions 37" x 24"
Strips - 6 x Samsung F-Series Gen3 3500K Strips, SI-B8U521560WW
Driver - HLG-320H-48A
Heatsinks - 6 x Heatsink USA 2.079"W x 24"L
Frame - 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/8" Aluminum from Metal Supermarkets


Wired in parallel circuit to give output voltage to each strip. Since it is parallel, I have inline fuses attached to positive side of each strip with 1.5A fuses. Actual readings with unit turned all the way up; 1.25A per strip, 47.7VDC. 375 Watts total from the wall.

It was a long project with all of the time planning and building. It is hard to try to find a balance between power, cost, looks, and size. I am overall happy with the outcome, let me know what you guys think.

This is a really nice build, guy. The fact that its fused alone, puts it way up there. That's extra effort few go the distance to have. Very well done.
Only advice I'd have for you, is if at all possible to move your bars, slide the inner 2 a bit more apart and the middle 2 a bit closer to the end strips to lose your hot-spot and even out the light coverage by A LOT.

I got 14 strips, I believe @Polyuro ordered 6 based on his post.

Not too sure on how to utilize them best, 6 strips will go to a 0.80*0.80cm flowering tent that is currently vegging under a 400w. This is the first time I'm getting to play around with strips, can't wait

The other 8 will probably be an addition or a replacement to some of the current lights (~800w mix of QBs and vero29s) on my 120*120cm tent.

This is the current setup

Just keep in mind that the efficiency of these SL-B8V7N90L1WW strips are extremely lower than the H-Influx version or even the Gen3's. There's a reason why they are so cheap right know.
Why not go for the
Bridgelux EB Gen2's (BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-B3 ) instead? Also very cheap on digikey. Lower voltage, much higher efficiency, for only a few bucks more you can double the amount of strips to get a more even spread of your leds, instead of two rows on 1 strip with the Influx.
yea, i knew the efficiency on these is not that high, but could not resist the 5$ per strip with free international shipping on arrow. thanks for the suggestion, will check the EB strips as well.

@Airwalker16 that's the plan for now, fill in the missing ceiling space - thanks!

Thanks again @Airwalker16 , I noticed many people that run parallel connections on their builds do not fuse the power going to each strip. The in line fuse kit was $12 from Amazon, well worth the piece of mind.


I think you are thinking of ANC's light with the center 2 strips closer spacing than the rest? I built my light with 7" even spacing for each strip. The center 2 may appear to be closer because the driver in between.

Light is 37" total length, 2 inch heatsinks centered at 1", 8", 15", 22", 29", & 36". Since I used screws I could move around the strips pretty easily, but I've already got them spaced evenly so I'm not sure what you meant.

Spoken from someone who has shouted NOOOooooo at the screen one too many times and now does this as standard.

No, I'm saying with even spacing you do NOT get even spread. You need the outer bars to be closer together than the middle ones. So if you can move them, do so.
