Salt problem (think) Flushing, but can it be fixed?

Ok, this is my third grow and I've researched as much as can along my journey into growing on my own. My first turned out fine, but two males. Next I got girls but started to develop white crystals on the rock wool which grew up the stem and killed them. Starting again, and still having this problem. My one fell over from the stress on the stem it was causing I believe. I'm currently flushing with straight distilled water. If it is salt, I doesn't disappear right away and like I said its growing up the stem. Starts out as white specs on the rock wool, then to the grow rocks, then on to the plant. Is this salt build up from hard water or too much nutes? Using pre packet mix from the stealth hydro system. Worked fine the first time just can't figure out what I changed. Using ph up and down thats used for aquariums, was wondering if that can be causing it. Other than that, change water every week, add half nutes then half four hours later. temps average 75, 40% humidity. Pics are posted, but hard to see the white specs cause I started flushing. As with the stem, this is what I also need advice on Immediately! Is there anyway to help it repair the stem or is inevitable? Its still growing at the moment. My second plant is starting to show signs of the same so prevention advice is just as important. Help me out here guys
