S.O.G how many plants under 400w hps?
jus like the title says i have a 3x3x6 diy grow tent with a 400w hps ac cooltube and was wondering how many plants i can have in this area

MY equpiment
5 hash passion seeds
1 blue mystic
1 green poison
1 romulan
4 bagseed(maybe white rhino or dominican blackberry)
1 elephant

if i was to flower all the strains but the romulan(currently 10 days flower).would this be enough light if i was to veg for 3 wks then flip to 12/12? and also what strains i listed are best for this sog method?:!:

12 plants could work... it seems a little crowded in 3x3 though. I would try one per square foot though, for SOG..., 9 plants?

Do screen of green, better light coverage, better yield... a screen shouldn't be too expensive but setting it up might.

How do you have a S.O.G with only one 400watt? Also you dont veg with using S.O.G its clone to flower. You sure your running a SOG?

nice variety!

you can fit 36 plants in the grow tent sog method. i would put them in 5.5-6" square pots. you can grow these plants up to 18" in these pots. u should start flowering them as soon as the clones root for about a week(4-6"). I would recommend growing one or two strains at a time doing sog method as they do vary in size. Since you have a wide selection of plants i would grow them all out from seed first and see which ones are nice and strong and have short node spacing. Then i would take clones from the good plants and get that super sweet sea of green going! i do it this way and love it because they flower faster and are way easier to take care of than larger plants! you can bust out about 9 ounces of dry matter every two or three months.

With the SOG method you should be pushing 9zip + every 2-3 weeks
thats an arbitrary number... it all depends on how many plants and watts you have in a particular SOG setup... and as far as i know there is not a defined "number of plants" and "wattage" that makes a setup an official SOG. (100 plants &4000w should have the same yield expectations as 25 plants and 1000w??? i think not)

With SOG you should strive for a yeild as close to [1 watt:1 gram] as possible. those are standard goals for any grow, but the SOG method is usually pretty good at it.

BC your using different strains, your going to have all different sized plants, both in height and shape, therefore Its hard to say what a good number of plants would be. I generally stick to the 1 plant per sq foot rule. Honestly idk how you plan to fit 36 plants in a 3x3 room, unless your putting them in too small of pots, which may hamper the yeild and quality of ur buds.

you also have to remember that 3 weeks veg from seed DOES NOT equal 3 weeks veg from clone. From seed, there is a week or so period where the plant is still considered a seedling, its only been alive for days; whereas a clone 'technically' has been alive for as long as its mother has been. Vegging clones is more efficient bc they are born into a vegging state.

I understand what your going for, and why you call it SOG. honestly I would just sprout 9 seeds and then adjust the veg time for each, so that you can control there growth and keep them at a uniform height. Once u find a nice pheno of one of your strains, clone the shit out of it and then do a real deal SOG next round with those clones.

As a general rule of thumb for SOG.

Plants are grown to 8" and flowered. This is how your Grams per M2 yields are formulated by breeders.

To flower from seed is a waste.....The closest system to that is a Bonzi rotating garden system.....They are now not being made by the company any more in exactly that style or the company is defunct (if it's not the Omega guys).
OmegaGarden has the Volksgarden rotating system, but it does employ the idea of some veg time as the plants are seed started in Rockwool starter cubes and then transfered to 3" Rockwool cubes when roots show, and put in the system...

Here's an overview of how you start that system from Omega's web site.....You now have access to look at everything on Omega's site....

http://www.omegagarden.com/index.php?content_id=1542

They have quite the idea/system. I have seen an old Bonzi 2 light system working with Canna and the whole interior was a solid mass of single cola buds.....I don't remember what, if at all, being told the end yield of that system....

I have the feeling that if you called Omega and spoke to the right person. They could answer that question.
