This is going to impact foreign affairs heavily. Russia will not sit on its hands when an ambassador is shot dead by a turkish police officer.

Unlike Hillary, Putin will react.

I predict the first move will be to cut off traffic on the turkish syrian border.

Turkey has been leting terrorists through the border and then at an event they host they allow a man to assassinate the russian ambassador and escape!

It will quickly escalate. There is already war in syria. The war will spread to turkey because the turk government will demand an open border.

They are already assisting the terrorists.

They have been buying oil from ISIS. They haven't monitored their border to stop traffic of terrorist groups. They have been demanding Assad step down to let terrorist groups take ownership of Syria.

Russia will not sanction Turkey for the actions of a radical policeman unless there is evidence of the Turkish state being behind it. Of course, Putin could say that is the case - but why would he? He could also say the Turks invaded him - but why would he? Please tell me the basis for these claims @Flaming Pie ?

What does Putin have to gain from war with Turkey - or even shutting the border? I mean, versus what he risks?

You haven't the vaguest idea what drives international affairs - nor does TRUMP! TRUMP! probably would start a war over something like this. Thankfully, Putin will be there to guide him.
