Running Out Of Space Quick

I had 16 in a closet and had to move to a smaller closet in my room. I only had 5 males leaving me w/ 11 females. This is the 16 day flowering and my friend came over and insited that we prune them to make the plant concentrate on bud development while allowing light to lower bud sites. Is is a small space prob. 3x3 at best mabee smaller wit a swotchable 400w syatem . I am lucky to have very high ceilings to help w/ heat issues.
So i let him get at the plants and he pruned off a lot of the fan leaves. He went to school for horticulture and works in the feild, besides the fact that he used to grow monsters outdoors.
will this hurt plants?? I was very skep.
The pics are soso, Is this even enough room.

While I will not argue with this trimming method and to its affects. I cant help but to think that if the plant did not need them, they would not grow them to begin with. My thought process tells me that they serve a very important purpose in the health of the plant. Personally, I dont trim anything.

Just my 2 cents.

You're going to be fine. If he "topped" the plants, you'll have multiple colas instead of just one main one on each plant. I used to grow 14 plants in the same area in which you're growing 11. They WILL be crowded, but hopefully, your friend pruned them in such a manner that they will grow to be like candleabras at harvest time. Pruning is done so that each plant can get light and concentrate energy to fewer bud sites. If you don't prune, the plants will grow like bushes and the lower buds will be shaded and produce "popcorn" buds. Good luck ...

Was That All He Did Was Trim The Fan Leaves? It Doesnt Really Look Like He Topped Any Of Them.from What I've Heard And Read The Fan Leaves Are What Gives The Plant Is Sugars And Energy To Grow. Although I Have Also Trimmed My Fans Leaves To Allow For Mor Light And It Didnt Seem To Affect The End Results. Also Besides Giving You 2 Main Colas, Topping The Plant Will Make The Plant Focus More Energy On The Lower Branches Which Will Make It Bushier Instead Of Taller.

thanks ivJay, he didnt top 'em, its way too late for that ... he just trimmed some of the fan leaves... It def opened up the lower buds to the sun (light hehe). I thing there going to be ok.. I started using frets today and the plant smells and looks better than ever... Im def not going to touch it untill harvest.. The space will get cramped again but we willl have to see what happens.

Is your closet closed or open cuz im going to have a closed 3X5X6.5 and im kind of worried that a 400w hps will get too hot? How good is your vintilation and how high up do you have it?
