Rubbermaid Stealth + Lowdryer Questions

Hello, I'm interested in starting a grow in my room. I wanna do the rubbermaid stealth grow, where I stack two boxes on top of one another. I already have the rubbermaid containers, I am just simply confused on lighting, soil, cooling and exhaust.

I picked out the Lowryder AK47 strain from Attitude Seed Bank.

I am interested in constructing something similar to...

I am buying 3 feminized seeds, and would like to grow all 3 at the same time in the box if possible.

Questions:
1. What type of lights should I buy? How many and what kind? Keep in mind I would like to grow all 3 if possible.
2. What kind of soil should I purchase for the plants? Also, what sized pots would be best?
3. What is the best way to go about cooling the plants? Obviously some kind of computer fan, but how do I get that running in my case?
4. What is the best thing to do about exhaust/smell? Is this really necessary?

I'm planning on growing all of the plants on an 18/6 cycle...
I don't know too much about the watering cycle for plants either. If you could tell me how often and how much to water the plants that would be really helpful.

I am hoping to have this set up by the weekend and get it pumpin' out some plants.

Thanks for any and all help guys.

1. What type of lights should I buy? How many and what kind? Keep in mind I would like to grow all 3 if possible.
You're best bet is CFL's. You can get them cheap, I got a 4 pack at home depot for $6. You can get 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering. Since you're using autoflowering plants, you could probably safely just run 2700k lights the whole grow. It's up to you and your budget.

2. What kind of soil should I purchase for the plants? Also, what sized pots would be best?
For soil I like Fox Farm Ocean Forest. It's organic and it's nice and airy. So far in my experience it retains water well while staying airy (oxygen is important to your plant). I'm experimenting with pot size, but I'll let someone else chime in because I have a MUCH smaller grow box so my containers are probably small for most people's taste.

3. What is the best way to go about cooling the plants? Obviously some kind of computer fan, but how do I get that running in my case?
You can run PC fans, they should be sufficient for your needs. All you have to do is wiring them to an adapter (e.g. a cell phone charger). Search on the boards, there are numerous tutorials you could follow.

4. What is the best thing to do about exhaust/smell? Is this really necessary?
If you're all about stealth, or you just have to hide your grow from the occasional visit, yes it's extremely necessary. Some strains stink to high hell during flowering. In my opinion (which I admit I don't have experience with all the different odor control methods) I like carbon scrubbers. Again, search the site for DIY carbon scrubbers (or filter) and you'll come up with many cheap, home made options.

With the autoflowers, take it easy with nutrients. Start with 1/4 strength and work up to what they can handle. If you're even using nutes.

Good luck man.

I don't think I am going to use nutes.

Will I have room to grow 3 plants in my space that I am attempting to grow in do you think?

I'm going to get 4 2700k CFL lights. Do you think that's sufficient lighting for 3 plants? I can get more lights.

Thank you.

for powering the PC fans I recommend one of these, http://www.coolerguys.com/840556088776.html?productid=840556088776&channelid=FROOG.

Just be sure to add the Amps used and Do NOT exceed the Amp rating, this particular product is rated for 5 amps.

as for the smell, your best bet is ONA Gel, or perhaps the ONA mist sprayer. You wont be able to pull through a carbon filter, even the DIY ones, with PC fans. Adding any kind of blower or inline fan would surely kill your "stealth".

I personally do not have a filter on my cabinet and the smell isn't noticeable but then again I'm sitting in it all day and smoking all the time. After trying many different methods the airflow wasn't getting out and creating positive pressure and I decided it just couldn't be done without a bigger / better fan.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. How many more do you think I should get?
I'm about to start a grow with a different autoflowering strain, and I'm planning on 100-150 watts per plant, and I'll add more if I need too.

If you're using CFLs, they range in size and lumen output. Again you can search on the forums here for anything and everything you need to grow.

Good luck!

The downside of stacking totes is that you will be in your grow a lot. It looks like the area you have the totes in is 3 sided. All you need to do is enclose it with a windscreen reflector, or two.

Please, if you anyone find a cell phone charger that runs 12V. Post a pic! Try to find a GameCube adapter, they are awesome.. got alot of Amp's and runs 12V! Or try to find a multicharger which lets you choose the voltage.. Ditch the chargers, maximum's gonna be like 9V...

Also you're gonna burn them quicker than with a console adapter! Just my two cents!

I bought the lights today and set up the entire grow box. I can give some pictures tomorrow. I also bought Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

How should I power my computer fans that I have set up in the box?
Do I need an intake and an exhaust? right now I just have intake.

I'm going to germinate the lowryder ak47 seeds in a few days. I'm going to have 2 growing at the same time. I have 6 lights going, 3 on each side of my grow box, shining down. These are the lights that I bought... http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xh7/R-100676713/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 .

I only have 6 of the lights set up for 2 plants, is that sufficient lighting?

Thanks for your help guys.
