RSO troubles...

So I am very frustrated right now. I can't seem to get the RSO right. I'm not looking for appearance at all, could care less if it looks blond or black, I'm looking for potency. A whole plant oil with potency. That's why I been tryin to make RSO for my medical conditions...

So heres whats going on. I am using organic gran alcohol- but my state only allows the 151 proof. So is there something IN that , causing my RSO to form into Glass? Am I making it too hot?

I extract the oils from the trim with the alcohol- Filter it- then cook it off on a controlled electric griddle. I usually cook it around 200-250F been messing with different temps to try for a better result. But heres what happens, the oil cooks beautifully but once it starts reaching the end- if it leaves the Heat source- it turns into Glass instantly. This could be awesome if I were looking to smoke it. Looking to eat it though. So anyone know what on earth im doing wrong here? Wrong alcohol? I want to make it organically. Going to try some other organic alcohols soon but that was the easiest one to obtain the 151proof everclear.

Any advice welcome I really am sick of paying top dollar for some RSO when I could make it from my own trim lol

Sounds a bit hot would be my guess. I've seen folks use a coffee maker hot plate, 125f ?

Are you leaving it in the hot oil long enough to decarboxylate?

Pretty sure this right here was the case, too hot. Going to try another batch on a lower temp, anyone think I should Decarb Before I extract? I think thats what im going to do, seems easier, then just slowly extract the solvent

Ostensibly more like not hot enough, or long enough.
I would decarb afterwards at 250F. Once you have fully decarbed it, it will no longer be a stiff carboxylic acid.

Get a double boiler. Reduce your green dragon to half. Dump it in some chocolate milk and chug. It rips me for 12 hours. Equivalent to a 12 pack, 3 opiate pain killers and a couple of bowls IMO

Real RSO is made from a whole plant extract. You basically fill a jar of pot with your solvent boil it for a while then strain it and evap the solvent.

Another option is to use 99.9% methyl hydrate, aka methanol, aka wood alcohol available everywhere around where I live in the far north.

You have to drink a litre of methanol to die and it evaporates faster than any other solvent so the minute quantities that "might" be left in your RSO have no meaning. ISO is no less toxic and much less available without raising eyebrows.

Back about '82 I made pot oil out of fan leaves from the plants in my basement. Not buds or sugar trim but huge fan leaves that we all toss in the compost now.

I'd save them all and them grind them up and put them in a 1gal milk jug with ISO and sit that in a big pot of simmering water on the stove. Put the cap on but back off enough so pressure could escape and let it bubble away for a day. Cool shit watching the vapours condense up near the top and trickle down. Then I knew it was working.

Then filter thru a coffee filter and evap. Put that stuff in 1cc diabetic syringes and sold it for $10 each. Ran out too fast!

Dudes would kill me now for selling that crap but for the day it was the bomb.

Lots of medicine in those fan leaves so juice them or eat them as they are worth way more than you think if you are a real medical user.
