Rosin vs live rosin

Hello everyone. I've been making rosin for almost 2 years now. My question is the difference in yield between live rosin and flower rosin. I would hate to spend 5 grand on a setup and then run out of product between harvest.

I think you probably get more weight out of the rosin press but that is because it has more fats. So it would be a trade off imo. 6 of 1 half dozen of the other. But i don't do live resin so idk . Maybe I'm wrong

More of what product and process?

The Rosin that I've had pressed from kif, harvested by freezing fresh material and then tumbling with dry ice, still contained more non targeted elements than a subzero Live Resin extraction using LPG.

More bulk and less refined.

This had very little do to with my question.
If I took a pound of weed and turned it into flower rosin, I'll get back about 20% or like 90 grams.
If I took that same weed and washed it freeze dry and then squish. How many grams would you think

It kinda did actually. It's a thinker though and your looking for a specific precise answer I take it.

to put it differently and specifically
You will get less live resin, maybe 10-15% return idk.
You have to understand this is because it is more pure/potent than rosin. Less impurities. More bulk/fat/wax . Live resin is more refined. The sub zero process keeps the fat out. See how that works?
Dose that make sense?

You would get 90 grams of 60-70% pure rosin at a 20% return or about 60ish grams of live resin that is 80-90% pure/potent

This is my assumption as well. I'm sure there are people who have done side by side comparisons and have logged the results. I was really hoping for something like that

Maybe . but I don't see why. Given that one product is more refined than the other its pretty easy to just crunch the numbers on paper. No experimenting needed

Perhaps more to do with my interpretation of your question and your terminology.

I've never split a sample, pressing one sample as flowers and the other as kif, so can't answer your question.

I have both dry sieved and water extracted hash, and I can tell you that neither process extracts 100% before turning to green crap, so ostensibly running kif starts off at a disadvantage from a volume stand point.

By the same token, it has a leg up on quality and my preference...………...

Yeah I've decided I'm going for it. My next harvest isn't until the new year so I'll wait until December to order the freeze dryer. I hate that there is only one company making them for households. I'll keep everyone posted.

Typical bubble results avg 5-10% of the amount of flower you put in and then bubble to rosin is like 50-80% depending on temp and strain. I like fresh frozen because it's easy, I'm only using a reg deep freeze and cut the plant down and bag it up and freeze for a min of 48 hours and then start washing.
Lesser yields for sure but a way better tasting product. Theres a big difference in taste and why live rosin goes for 2x the price of flower rosin.

This is pretty much what I was looking for thanks man
