Its fine it shouldnt hurt anything really. Like I said before it will just slow the growth for a bit but the plant should recover fine.

When people bonsia there plants they actually shave off half the roots on a regular basis so that the plants dont ever become rootbound in the same size pot.

Dont worry about it, just try and be more careful in the future. Often times injury makes the plants grow bigger, faster, and stronger.

A few months ago I sprouted twenty seeds. One of them sprouted with only one cotyledon. It barely survived seedling stage but ended up being the largest of all the plants. It was actually thirty percent bigger than the second largest. A little bit of stress can jar the plants into working extra hard.

It won't mess it up but it may take a couple days to start growing up again.

I know people who used to cut their roots on the outside of the root ball when they were transplanting. They claimed it was "like topping the roots". I have never done tests to see if it increased the rate of root growth but their plants always lived.

Hi,

So what happend with yur plant? Did it recover? I ripped most roots off a week ago and didn't think it would live so I washed what little roots where left and put clonex gel on it and stuck it in an aerogarden. There is a ton of new roots but most the leafs died or are very ugly.. But its chasing the light so maybe it will make it.
