I've recently started using roots greenfields , i was using reg roots mixed with coco and their hdro mix now only roots new orgini formula which is competing with ffof has anyone else using hes products encountered gnats not just a couple LOTS of these little fuckers, I've been hearing rumors that roots organics comes with maggots already in the soil is this TRUE or mumbo jumbo the truth is what people need to be truely competent growers and if this is true i want my loot back and they should really fix this immediately, because this is pretty unnerving that they just appear in the mornings so if any insight is out there please comment let the people know TRUTH...:eyesmoke:

wow that sucks....

I had some trouble like that before... but it was because of my own accord, and not where my soil was from.

I hope to see what everyone else says.

Nematodes. they will kill all larvae in soil in like 3-5 days. Then use yellow sticky paper to catch the flying one's.

i added nematodes in week 1 of flowering and use neem oil in veg should i use it in flower also?, should continue nematode treatment?,do you have any advice on powder mildew can i use SERENADE beyond week 3 of flower if not what would be the best substitute? amd thank you for the advice so far..

I have never used serenade? But as long as the soil did not dry out the nematodes are still breeding and eating. I would say you got gnats because your soil stayed wet for too long. Once they get in there its hard to get rid of them. Yellow sticky paper and the nematodes should do it.
on your own accord how and what happened, i would like to make sure i'm not doing the same..

OMRI Very Important. Yeah good question on the dry mold. I think I would pick the leaf off.

Voodoo actually eats up the dead roots and allows new root growth. Thats good.

You want the yellow sticky card traps, not the flypaper stuff that comes in the little can looking thing. What exactly is the "yellow tape" you're referring to? These are what I use for fungus gnats, they are attracted to the bright yellow of the card (plus they are really cheap and non-toxic):

They sticky tape works also, it's just a pain in the ass haha!

Golden nailed pretty much everything on the head bro! I got gnats by overwatering my biggest plant pot without letting it dry out like my smaller plants. After about 5 days of the soil being pretty saturated I noticed gnats.

So.... I took clear packing tape and covered top of my pot completely so that only the plant stem was coming through and I let my plant dry out almost completely... all the larva hatched and the gnats tried to fly away, only to get stuck to my clear tape barrier...... After that I just made sure I didnt over water, and Ive kept a yellow sticky pad up.... I get maybe 2-3 gnats stuck to it a week which is fine by me!

My son was helping me in the garden, he pulled a very used yellow sticky out of tent and hung it close by, well I turned around and PLOW it was stuck to my forehead, I was uber pissed and laughing at the same time.

LOL I know, I have done similar shit with those cards hanging around. That sticky shit does not come out of your hair very easily!

That's a cool idea thatdjsnow, something I never thought of before. The tape would keep adults from laying new eggs and get the new adults as they hatch at the same time! +rep for that one! :D
