Roots Organic Original soil - OK for starting seeds in?

Experienced grower here, looking for experienced opinions. Anyone out there using Roots Organic ORIGINAL for starting seeds? Is it too hot?

It’s fine I used tap water and it was ok.

I just started a seed in a root riot cube in roots organic original about a week ago and haven't seen any issues. I also just ran 4 autos that started in roots organic and they all did well. I had problems with one plant out of the gate but I'm pretty sure it was a magnesium issue from it being my first all organic grow.

If you are worried about mixes being too hot for seedlings in general, just cut some of it 50/50 with perlite or vermiculite.

It's mega weak on nutrients. It's good for starting plants but you will need to add fertilizer otherwise.

Sounds like it'll be fine for poppin seeds. Appreciate the info!

You can always amend with perlite which will increase dry backs and dilute the mix a little more
