ok i had an outside plant start flowering this week. they just started showing sex about 5 days ago (didn't see it till 4 days ago). I cut clones from a couple tips today because i found out only a 1 out of 7 beauties were really girls.
I have put them in my little home made cloner and am waiting on them to grow roots.
when they root I plan to put them in my dwc and put them straight on 12/12 and sog them.

but before they root i need to know If i will HAVE to leave the lights on 24/0 untill they get roots or is it ok to leave them on a 12/12 time while rooting the clones.

ps:attaching eye candies too.:hump:

image01.jpg is a shot of the magnifying glass i used to take pic #1 (and a webcam)

I would keep them on 24 hours of lights until they root. They've got a tough enough time anyway, since they have been induced to flower, and just because you snipped them from the mother plant, doesn't mean that they will stop flowering. They will likely be sprouting pistils so you need to keep them in the light so they know to switch back to veg. THEN they will root. Maybe.

HTH

Im confused. You had 1 outside plant which you said started to flower. You took 7 clones and 1 was female????????If the original was female then they are all female impossible for 6 to be male clones from a female mom.Did I read wrong Ill re read........

i dont want them to switch back to veg if at all possible. this strain grows a LOT during flowering. enough so that if these clones rooted now, by the time they finished flowering they would be roughly a foot and a half tall. which is what i want, being ideal size for the box that they are going in.

i have no problems rooting clones, but i always do it under 24 hours of light. I was trying to find out if anyone has ever done it under 12/12 light schedule? that way they would stay in flowering while they are growing roots, and i wouldent have to waste all that time and wouldent have to top my plant more than i want to.

no i had 7 beautiful babies outside about 4ft tall. turns out i had 1 3ft female, and 6 huge males. (bummer but shit happens....what i get for not having the $ for feminized)

so i am cloning a couple tips off the female (had 6-7 tops on it) in my dwc cloner/thingy they have just shown sex this week as female. so they are in flowering and i want them to stay that way. can i give em 12/12 and them root?

If you wann flower them small they can go 12/12 as soon as they root but must root them first and I use 24 hour florescent 2 tube shop lights then into setups.I just tossed 6 bluberries into 1 of my 6 site aero machine I build and sell and have them on 24 hour to veg them as mommies for a bigger 28 site aer setup

do you think that they will root on a 12/12 schedule?
it takes this strain a long ass time to go into flowering from veg.
some unknown ancient strain my uncle had in a trunk. it was a bag of grass he got in nam and we didnt smoke the buds because they were nasty looking as hell but the seeds sprouted and grew into some beautiful dark plants.....

ok since i havent gotten any answers as far as letting me know if a 12/12 time would/wouldent allow clones to root im just gonna try it and see what the hell happens. If it dosent work ill just cut some more and do those on 24/0 lighting. I hope this works though because Ive never gotten any easy clones when plants were already in flowering past 2 weeks.......

edit/ps: ill post back letting everyone know how it works out and if i am able to get them to root or not then i will take pics so everyone can see the plant. (i wish to hell and back i knew the name of the strain)

Well, I don't know if they will root with only 12 hours of light, but I do know that if they root and continue to flower, the plant will be so scrawny that she won't produce much bud. To get a plant that will support buds, you need a good root sysytem, and that takes vegetative growth.

man thats fine. i just wanna try the bud before i start growing it see, im thinking of growing this strain my next grow if it looks nice enough later on down the road.

you should really leave the light on 24. I've had clones from a flowering plant before and it took me almost nearly 3 wks for it to show roots(rockwool method) But at the end i got a clone of the strain i wanted.

I am trying 3 on 12/12. one that is clearly showing sex, one that is just showing sex and, one that has no signs of sex at all but came from the same plant as the rest.
i have 2 red cfls and 2 blue cfls (all four are 26watt) on them right now untill they root.

all 3 clones are in dwc style cloners.
2 clones have a capfull of superthrive in their water
1 clone has pure water.

today is their 3rd day in the box.
for the first 24hrs i gave 24hr light.
the second day i started the 12/12 lighting schedule.

thats like your trying to make a plant produce bud/flowers without it having any roots. lol

actually LOL.......thats what is happening so far. the flowers are getting bigger @ a slow rate, and there is no sign of rooting either. but it usually takes about 8 days min for them to take root like that.

by the way.....flowers are growing at a faster rate on the 2 with the superthrive compared to the one that does not have it.

dont worry you'll probably get like 20-40 grams per plant like that 20 being you fucked up badly. I had a clone before that flowered while still in the proprogating then went st8 into flowering and i yielded about 26 grams on that small plant. it was only in a 4x4 rockwool so if you do dwc you'll get a better result. After that i found out that the strain i was growing was auto flower.

keep an eye out for balls,,, thats a whole bunch of stress your putting them under.

watch em like they were my own kids man........
check em once if not twice a day.
thats why i love indoors.......god i shouldnt be so lazy and impatient.
id get much better yields.lol

update by the way. im not sure if this is gonna work now. the buds are still growing bigger while plant growth is still growing @ a slow rate as well. the longer hairs pertruding from the buds are a bit wilted though...............(only part of clone that is though) i added some rootone powder to the water almost 24hrs ago. I have seen this improve percentage of surviving clones in dwc, personally before so maybe it will help....... but ive never added superthrive to them before too. i added 1 cap full to the water when i put them in 5-6 days ago. that may explain sfor the increased growth but then again they are on 12/12 and just have started flowering, /OR/ a combination of the 2????? so who the hell wants to make a bet on what caused the growth?
wow so many factors in this whole experiment.......ive really fucked it up just trying to get it to work.lol

ill take pics 2morrow since im off work and it will be about the 1st&1/2-2nd week they have been in flowering (since showing sex.)
