Rooted Clones drooping need some help plz! HEMPY & CMH.

So I picked up 4 clones( 2 larry og, 2 diablo og) from the dispensary on Sunday 10/24 and they were looking real healthy, already rooted, about 7-8". They were in rockwool cubes so I put them in red plastic cups with 100% perlite (mini hempy cups). I ph'd the water to about 6.0 and added some superthrive, hygrozyme, h2o2, and silica. The perlite was pre treated with this and I also watered them with this the first day.

Since the transplant the clones have began to wilt/droop and two of the plants (larry og) have leaves that are curling up..almost like the claw. The next day, yesterday, I went home at lunch and watered the plants again (cups felt light). I only watered them with 6.0 phd water.

Woke up this morning and they are still drooping, any insight?

Some facts that may help...

-Vegging under 250w CMH about 18" from the tops.
-temps are low 80's with about 40% RH
-plenty of air circulation with fans going
-18/6 Light cycle.

Any thoughts/ideas would be beneficial.

Try putting them under a humidity dome.....if the roots arent developed enough they will sag. Once under the dome for a few hours they will perk up. If they do its because the roots werent ready yet.

Anytime Ive had a clone start to droop thats usually the cure. Hope that helps

I thought about this, but the roots were really developed when I purchased them. Do you have any experience with hempy? I am wondering if they will continue to wilt until the roots hit the res?

I am also using Dynamite (red bottle) as my nutes..its a TRF.

Not sure if anyone has experience with those..also I am wondering if I should raise my light some more? Is 18" enough distance for a 250w CMH with 2 week old clones?

I appreciate the feed back guys.

I grow hempy. You are going to want to keep the roots from drying out until they hit the res. Perlite does not absorb any water so you have to keep them moist until they hit the res. I use 80/20% mixture of Perlite/Vermiculite. The vermic helps to retain a little water and gives the roots something to hang on to. You will be fine if you nurse them along until it hits the res. Here is a young hempy seedling (WW) in a hempy cup.

Thanks for the reply LT. Do you suggest watering everyday, twice a day, or more until they hit the res? They are in rockwool cubes in the perlite so I am afraid of keeping that too wet for rot/mold issues. What about a foliar spray will that be beneficial at all?

That young plant looks beautiful btw!

Once per day should be good unless they are drying out too fast. Foliar spray and a humidity dome is what I go with until roots hit res.

Thanks again for the reply LT. I tested the runoff last night and it was at 6.5 ph :-(

I flushed all the plants until they had a runoff of about 5.8-5.9 or so, hope that will help some. They all still looked real droopy this morning.

About how long usually till the roots hit the res in the mini hempy cups? Mine went in on Sunday afternoon, so its been a few days..thinkin it should be any day now...

I don't have a humidity dome, so maybe I will try and ghetto rig something up when I get home tonight to help push them through.

The couple times I have watered them it has been with a 50/50 mix of RO and tap water. I was hoping to get some use out of those tap water micros.
Sounds like your plants are ready for some nutes are you giving it anything?

I am using Dynamite (red bottle). It is a TRF. I know the majority of people here and probably most everywhere don't use TRF's with our beloved weed, but several discussions over at another site has led me onto them.

What is the ratios on the bottle? ?-?-?
I believe its 14-14-14.

Other people have been using Osmocote+ with great results and a few have tried the DM with success as well. The reason I went with DM over the OS+ is because it is supposed to tolerate high temperatures better. My cab sits in the 80's.

It could take 1-3 weeks depending on how vigorous the growth is. It could be sooner - You just have to babysit them at this stage. There will be no doubt when they hit the res as growth will start to explode.

You are quite welcome. I remember when I first started hempy after only growing in soil! There is a learning curve.
