Rootbound....

Hey guys,Two of my beautes that are doing REALLY well is starting to have there roots come through the drain holes.There in 8 inch pots,I think there a gallon,there about a foot tall,i topped them so there bushy as hell.I was wondering how do you all get yours rootbound???Do you cut the roots that come out of the holes or stuff them back in there or what?I really dont think i can transplant these guys,And I REALLY dont want to.there in a soilless mix also,50/50 sphagnum peat moss and perlite....

Transplanting is your best bet, the safest one anyway. I mean if you're really deadset against that you could attempt to trim the roots, people will sometimes do that with the mothers they want to keep around. That can be tricky business though, and will almost certainly stress them more than a transplant.

Probably not...just find a guide. Do a search for root trimming/pruning, bonsai growers have to trim the roots so there are guides out there.
