Root rot or brown slime?

Hey all.
Noticed this when I woke up today. My entire roit system has been looking great up until now. Some info..
WaterFarm RDWC bucket
Upgraded 4 outlet pump with airstones added
RO water
GH flora trio nutes
Calmag
Hydrogaurd
Res temps between 63 and 68
Canopy temp of 71 to 77 lights on
65 to 70 lights off
pH kept between 5.5 and 6
Probably too much light exposure to root zone due to early pH problems that called for more adjustment than normal

So I'm already running hydrogaurd and my water temp is good. Picking up some great white today and also, in case of emergency I have h2o2 on hand (29%).

So what do you guys think? Root rot or slime. The discoloration is only high up where the roots emerge from the pot. Everything in the water is white still. Should I hit it with the great white right away? Try to hit it with h2o2, then clean and change the res and re-inoculate with the great white and Hydrogaurd?
No signs of stress from the plant yet above the roots. Ingnore the the red shadows, it's from my led. The actual roots are the correct color from the flash though. Included a shot of the plant as well

Ugh...
Things were going so well....

over thinking it, change your res, work carefully., looks good
Well that's reassuring.. so you don't think that's rot or slime? I'm changing my res and re-innoculating tonight regardless, but I'm curious what that discoloration is... thanks for the speedy reply!

It is pretty similar in color. Just concerned that the discoloration seems pretty localized to one section of the roots ( the part closest to the bottom of the net pot) I'd think if it was nute staining it would be all over the root mass..

I'm going to clean and change my res bucket tonight and add hydroguard and great white and hope that either it isn't a problem or that it will be taken care of if it is. If it turns out to be rot or slime and it doesn't get better from the GW and HG then I'll be brewing some tea....

I agree that you have the start of what could lead to some root disease

im not one to recommend how to use beneficial bacteria so maybe someone else can do that

but if your going to go the route of sterilizers

h202 works but youhave to does it daily
dm zone is like chlorine in your tap water and you can dose it weekly
sm90 is oil based and does have a nice effect on root growth

change the res every 3 or 4 days
I would run the h202 for 3 days then run sm90 for a week and then go back to your hydroguard enzyme

you could look into bennies for your future, some claim to love it! but for me its not my thing

I think what appeals to me about beneficials is that it seems easier and more forgiving to establish a colony of microorganisms (less worry about res temps and less res changes). Whether it is effective or not... we shall see.

Also, I've gone through thread after thread and article after article where the debate between the live crowd and the sterile crowd never seems to get resolved with any level of clinical certainty. Extremely frustrating. Im going hard on bennies for now, and if that doesn't fix the issue I'll go hard on sterile to try to clear it up and then decide whether to try to re-innoculate.

Ok... full res cleaning and nute change. Scrubbed and sanitized the bucket, fresh RO, silica blast, flora trio, calmag, full dose of hydroguard, full dose of great white. pH came out to 5.6 without any adjustments, res temp is currently 67.1, added an additional air stone and now I hope for the best.
