i use them... I used to keep em in a small seedling tray, a small dish that holds about 1/8th of an inch of water, or just drip water on em to keep moist... I tried em in a seedling tray with a dome a couple times and hated the results... took me a long time and a lot of seeds before I found out just set the bottom in an 1/8th inch of water n wait 3 days... I soak my seed, usually about 4-6 hours(used to soak 12-24)... 4-6 hours my seed is usually at the bottom of the shot glass... I tried pointing the seed up, n down... now I just point the seed down about 1/4 " deep in the rooter... pinch off a small, small piece from the top corner with my tweezers, and put it in behind the seed... when I pointed seed up sometimes it tangled itself inside the rooter... I have a diy bubble cloner with 1 1/2" net pots... the rr's drop right in... the bubbles keep the cloner moist and wicks water all the way to the top... I don't worry about a thing when it comes to germination now... the rr's are self maintained... just keep them wet... ive only been at this for about 15 months... but believe me... ive planted over 150 beans... I practiced, I bought, I got free beans from fellow growers... I used to try to baby the seeds... but one of my good grower friends at another forum saw my struggle and sent me over 300 beans... that's when I learned to germ like a champ... lol... I use them now just to find out how to get the most out of seedlings... in those first couple weeks... I don't grow all these plants to harvest... they are auto ak47... but I am busy with at least 25 beans going at any one time...
