I know my plant will stretch in size when switching to flower but howmuch bigger will my root mass get in flower?

Sites root mass growth slow during flower? Because i'm trying to calculate when to switch to ensure a plant that doesn't have root binding issues at the end of its life but still reaching Max potential
Thanks!

lol thanks for all the help.

i ask because i am considering vegging longer and using bushmaster on my SAGE plants.

im putting 12 plants in a 4x4 area which seems kind of cramped so im concerned about space considering these sativa dominants stretch 2.5x.

also the idea of cutting a couple weeks off flower time is appealing as well.

of course i have to factor in root size and plant height as i dont want root binding nor the plants to grow into the lights. im more concerned about the roots since i can always bushmaster in an emergency to control the height.

i would imagine that root growth would slow once budding begins but im a noob:hump:

Root growth doesn't stop.. I like to have more than half additional space in the rez for new roots during flower.. but I don't veg long.

Don't you have another thread? Why not ask this there? Sadly enough views/comments are taken into account by most people.

hehe once bud start to develop which is two-three weeks into flowering your leaf production will slow down but the plant still needs water/nutrients make this new flower. I've notice within that beginning 2-3 week period your plant doubles in size along with the root mass. Once the buds start I'm not sure if it increases its range but definetly gets denser with more of those almost hair like roots to absorb more oxygen and suchh

just an idea but you could always put a small holed net basket thing (kinda like a fish net) attached underneath of your net pot or w.e your using to keep the roots sorta tammed within the netting makes it a little simpler to transplant, trust me tangled roots is a bi**ch to move around or untangle
