root bound flowering help please

hi i heard when i switch to the 12/12 cycle i should have allready potted my plants into there final pots and let the roots grow out till i can see them at the bottom of the drainage hole?is this true if so can someone explain, will it not get rootbound during flowering?please someone explain what they do when they pot up to final potzise.

Umm No... You want to transplant before flowering But you do not want to wait for the roots to show at the bottom. Id say Transplant into final pots 4-10 days before you switch them.

No you dont wait till theyre poking out, but the thought behind what youve heard is that once you flower a plant you will have much less root growth and way more flower growth. so like htsause said, transplant into final pot give it at least a week, then go ahead and flower.

You could transplant in 12/12. The reason for not doing in bloom is stress. If you have waited to long go ahead to change the pots out. A little early stress is better than a late root bound. To answer your question when to switch, I usually have mine in the final pot when they are 8". I turn mine at 10 to 12", to get a smaller plant.
