Room Temps

I have a shed I want to grow in. How warm do I need to keep it? I read a lot about not getting to warm. There seems to be little or no discussion of acceptable low temps.

I konw the dangers associated with hot temperatures as they are well discussed. I would like to know what colder temps will do to the plant. I am aware frost will probably kill it. I want to know if colder temps will hamper growth and how.

Id say 60f to 50f slow growth
under 50f the plants will probably go into shock
if left at that temp for prolonged periods of time

If your using HID Lamps you should have no problem
with low temps when the lamp is on.
I use an 800w small Oil filled heater to keep my girls warm
at night :)
I grow in at 4 foot long 4 foot wide and 6.5 foot high space
my low temps are around 60-68 at lights out
and can hit top side of 90f lights on but is generally at 85f
most of the time. all my 8 girls look good.

Id try and not let your temps drop below 60f if you can help it
and iv heard you can grow with temps upto 90f without any
additional Co2.

Good Luck :)

Once you start getting into the fifties you are putting your plants at risk of stress due to the lower temps. I'm not a botanist but I've read up on what your asking. Plants get cold stress just like they get heat stress. Below fifty five degrees according to Jorge Cervantes grow bible, plants slow/stop growing. At temps below the fifties they seriously hurt the plant's ability to recover and below freezing explodes the plants cells. Hope that helps.

I've read that the temp should not drop below 50F degrees for a prolonged time. +1 on the advice for the space heater when your lights are off
