Room switch

Ok so I am ready to move my vegging plant from the veg room, which is lighted by the 4' 2 bulb florous. I have a tent setup with a 1000w HPS system and I was wondering if how I should go about moving the plants from one room to the other. Also, I was wondering how far away, I should keep the light from the plants, here are some pics to help out with the explanations?

dont pay attention to the attachments, there pics of my dead plants a series of unfortunate events, not fun at all! but the two pics on top show u how the ligh n ventilation is hooked up and my kind of system.

Start about 2.5' away with the 1000 watter, they're very powerful. I move my plants straight in, my nutes advise me to use 1/2 of the grow, 1/2 of the bloom but my plants have had nothing but outstanding growth since moving to full bloom, no problem at all.

all ofmy plants are about 5" tall I plan on vegging them under the 1000w for a week or two at the most!
