Room Plans!

I LOVE google sketchup! Good stuff!

So here are my plans for my room after i finish my first harvest.
The boxes are Toughbox totes using the stinkbud single areo/dwc unit plans.
SoG:
Closet - clones
Room 1 - Veg for 2 weeks
Room 2 - Flower for 9 weeks

My concerns:
Is a 600w MH overkill for 2 plants?
My first plant out grew the size of the tote and was brushing against other plants. I'm not sure how long I vegged it for.
Personally I don't like other plants pinned up against each-other or the wall too much because it reduces air flow and growth and bugs spread faster..? LOL, I'm new so that could be a question...

The flowering room is very cramped. I am not sure how big the plants will be after 2 weeks of veg. If they are small, I'm thinking of putting 2 plants per tote for some walking space in the room.

I was also thinking of useing a light mover. Will it save me electricity if i just use 1 1k on a light mover? Will i get the same yeild?

Let me know if have any questions.
Any suggestions welcome! Thanks guys!

600 for 2 vegging plants? shouldn't need more than a 400w or a 6 bulb t5 if you want 2 large vegging plants.

2 weeks veg for a decent sized clone would put your plants around 1x1x1 area of space taken up. 2 plants per tote sound fine should be able to veg a lot more than 2 under a 400 or the 6 bulb easy(6 bulbs t5 are great, custom spectrum and electric saving my plants grow faster under these, but if i where growing taller plants i would go with the 400w MH)

1k on a light mover should increase yield since you not in soil i would consider it, its a nice upgrade now i dont think i will make you yield that much greater but it definitely wont hurt.

8 bulb t5 is unecessary for clones you could get away with less elec consumption, what size/wattage where you thinking?

and to be honest you want to do hydro and keep it simple and cheap scrap the aero, water pumps add heat hea is the enemy in hydro water. if anything a form of rdwc would be best.

O I thought aero has faster plant growth than hydro. And also i thought more light = faster plant growth. im still newish at this.

ok so could i use the 8 t8s for the veging plants? and just use cfls for the clones?

the type of aero your thinking is "real" aero" which is really a science and your not near that yet, the sprayers arent a bad idea but youl get better results dwc by itself, or if anything with a top feed syem instead of aero sprayers.

look into hempy style or go DWC/RDWC

that would be fine what size/watss are the t8s? 48inch? 32w?

I wouldn't be able to have a top feed system with a rez, because the ground is cement. I cant get the rez lower than the plants to get gravity to return the solution.
I might do 5 gallon buckets or smaller RDWC. Problem i can think of is if i have them all connected they will share the same solution and different weeks require different solution strength.

Im trying to make my water changes as easy as possible.

you could get water pumps for each res like the aero idea but instead only run them once or twice a day for about 15min

hold on let call in a hydro guy...

If you haven't bought everything, I'd use individual "Water Farm" units from Hydro Farm and mfd'. by Gen Hydro. Best I've ever used, and I've built or bought and tried every type of Hydro I ever saw. They are a combination system but the most important thing is that they top feed, aerated nutes. by the schedule you set. Most explosive root systems I have ever witnessed and the growth to match. Two buckets with the bottom the res. so you can have different nutrients in each...

Interesting so it has a water pump and an air pump? Personally i dont like buying systems.. they are too pricey. I like DIY

water farm is hempy my friend checked out the thread earlier, oops forgot to post.

he said i was right on the money it would be better to do something simple like a flood and drain setup, or hempys style(waterfarm is hepy style air pump only)
DWC could be used in flower but it wont be adequate for veg.
but honestly he said flood and drain is the cheapest and best route.

LOL well i built a flood and drain table too but tore it down becuase i didnt think it would work.
I will look around for a cheapish ~ 4 x 4 table.

hempy is the shit if i was limited on numbers i would do hempy, its right next to DWC as far as yield and size of plants.
