I have six 1-month old plants and 4 seedlings on my back patio. I was getting a new roof installed on the house so I moved the girls to the back of the yard to keep them out of direct sight from the roof. I didn't count on the roofers using my backyard as a lay-down area and workspace. Note: even my wife and kid don't know I'm growing. So I get a call while I'm at work from my wife who says "some roofer guy says you have a green thumb and he would like to buy one of those plants in the back corner of the yard for $20." I do a fair amount of landscaping and I currently have lots of other plants in pots around the yard so she didn't think anything of it (she thought he was making an excuse to talk to a pretty lady). I got real freaked out because I'm very careful about the operation. My rational side told me it was no big deal and was actually kind of funny. I better hid the plants that night but left two of them in the same spot with a note attached to it. It said not to talk to my wife about it, because she didn't know I was watching them for a friend. The owner of these plants said you can have one or both of these plants for $50 each. It gave a little description of each one since one was an Onyx autoflower that I didn't have a lot of faith in. But I thought if he was more concerned with stealth and being done in two months he might want to try it. There was an empty plastic bag and I asked him to put the money in the bag on the honor system if he chose to buy either. I also left him a nug from last year's harvest as a "thank-you for the roof" regardless of if he purchased either plant. I came home early to take a look at the finished roof before they left. The guy ended up buying the Reserva Privada Cole Train. We ended up talking for a while, me still sticking to the story that I was just babysitting them for an out-of-town friend. Turns out one of the other roofers is his son and they both grow. The kid pulls out his smartphone and shows me a recent picture of his girls. The whole thing works out because I have way too many plants as it is (I really only have room for 3 or 4) and will probably end up giving some away. I feel comfortable since the plants will get moved soon to the other side of the house which is pretty hidden and difficult to access. I'm upset with myself for not being more cautious, but I think it's pretty funny nonetheless.
