"My attitude is if the science and the doctors suggest that the best palliative care and the way to relieve pain and suffering is medical marijuana then that's something I'm open to because there's no difference between that and morphine when it comes to just giving people relief from pain," Obama said. "But I want to do it under strict guidelines. I want it prescribed in the same way that other painkillers or palliative drugs are prescribed."
But he added that he was concerned that the reasons for the use of marijuana would grow and create a "slippery slope."

in 3 years, obama and the democratic congress have helped my family by:

allowing my wife to buy insurance despite a pre-existing condition
making work pay tax credit = $800 so far for me, my brother, mom, and dad
ARRA - faster travel time to town due to expanded highway
lily ledbetter fair pay act - allows my wife or mom greater statute of limitations in case of gender-based pay discrimination
my dad (a carpenter) gets more work, especially when tax returns come in
tax breaks allowed me enough to invest such that i no longer have to claim UI
extend this to friends as well:

openly gay friends now allowed to serve in armed forces
friends going to college get more in loans
friends get tax rebates on energy efficient appliances which also save them money
friends have taken advantage of tax breaks for solar power (so i'm told) such that they get paid every month instead of paying for electricity

doma now unconstitutional

if you want me to list the things i don't like about obama, the list might be just as long. but the positives, in my eyes, far outweigh the negatives. i'm not going to blame his choice of bernanke or immelt for whatever happens to me. i happen to take personal responsibility for my status in life.

Thats his success!?!?! What a complete failure! You turn a blind eye to everything thats important. Its like a brain defect. He has done NOTHING to fix Bush's mess. Hes made it worse. And telling some story about how there is no way ou can take care of your wife without the government's help (taxpayers) help shows the pathetic weak little man that you are. All of hte sudden its got to be the burden of the 50% of Americans who actually PAY taxes around here. You're just a self entitled narcisist that needs big daddy to wipe your ass for you. i agree that you should never get married.

my wife buys her own insurance, and pays for it herself, thank you very much.

if you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at me. i don't carry insurance right now and go to the local clinic. i can see that being in line with ron paul-esque values, since he wants things done at the most local level possible, which is what this clinic is.

btw, "bush's mess" was leaking 700k jobs a month and leaving the dow at 8,000.

the dow is up 40% and you guys are making a big deal out of the recent jobs report that came back 0, a 700k improvement from bush but also the worst number in many, many months (over a year and a half).

no, nothing is being improved :roll:

Bush left the Dow? WTF? I keep hearing a whole lot of excuses why its perfectly OK we have a messed up economy under Barrack Obama. The truth is hes "in over his head". Obama doesn't have any real answers, to any real immediate problems. Back to what this thread is about. I don't think Obama is going to make the push to legalize weed. I know he has smoked it, and left it up to state medical laws and all that. But he has way more important issues to take care of including making money than to be an advocate for marijuana legalization. I would be REALLLY suprised to see him make a push. Even though budlover thinks I'm setting myself up for a trap. I just don't think its on Obama's plate right now.

After he gets reelected (and he will) I think you are going to see a different Obama

IF you pay taxes (and thats a big IF) why don't you have a problem with the billions Bush gave to Pakistan which allowed them to grow their nuclear building program to be now the fastest and biggest in the world? Why don't you have a problem with Exxon who makes $114 billion every 3 months and pays ZERO taxes? I'll tell you why, its because Limbaugh/Hannity and the rest of the FOX News millionaires leads you around like a puppy on a leash.

I can't turn on FOX News without hearing "50% pay no taxes" and here you are repeating it just like a parrot. Statements like this are formulated to rile people up with low IQ's. Are you upset that granny on social security pays no taxes? Retired people make up 13% of that number. Are you upset that disabled and sick people pay no taxes? They make up 20% of the population. Or maybe its the 15% that work and are still below the poverty level, is that who you're mad at? These are the people you are attacking with your ignorant FOX News generated bullshit.

great post, but i have to disagree here.

i bet the kiddo is a professional mailbox checker (i.e. unemployment).

instead of looking for a job, he sits on pot growing websites all day and blames obama for his lack of job, instead of taking any personal responsibility for himself.

Freeloaders Like my 11 year old daughter dont pay any taxes. And quite frankly Im sick of it. I hope they get rid of minimum wage and child labor laws so I can force that kid into a factory

I actually thought the same thing but I didnt want to assume to much. I know there are plenty of trailer park conservatives out there that collect a govt check and spend their days online bitching about Obama while Rush is blaring through every radio in their trailer.
