I'm curious how does RIU stay running without advertising? I love this site, but as my dad would say "boy, ain't nuttin in life free". Same guy who said money doesn't grow on trees, which I proved wrong.. ;)

No but seriously this question has came up before and the only answer that I have heard is that @Uncle Buck 's brother or uncle pays for the site to stay running.

Still Hole, this site costs a few grand a year. That is a basic forum price, could probably handle 25 members. Have an estimate on how many extra servers Rolli has to rent to make this place run as smoothly as it does? That is where a big chunk of change goes, and that ain't cheap.

I can tell you a private forum with less than a 100 members is over 1200, I can't even imagine what it is how big this place is.
