Rogue male flower just popped pollen :(

Opened my tent today and all looked great. Peeked down a bit and BAM!! Pollen be fallin. It must have happened this morning or last night. GHS Super Lemon Haze couldn't take the switch from 12/12 to 13.5/10.5 apparently. That or the break in the stem earlier. Idk but I'm pretty eggy about this.. she's 19 days into flower. Two sacs opened up on two seperate branches. I removed a whole branch and plucked ~10 popcorn buds on the bottom that had hidden male sacs. Fuckers were hiding well behind the female flowers. There is no more visual pollen on the plant anywhere, and I can't find anymore male parts. They were all at the bottom...

What are my options here? I have another cab I can put the hermie in but what about the other plants in the tent? The one right next to her (middle plant in pic) is not even 1 week into flower. She barely has pistils showing. The one on the right, Holy Grail, is the same 19 days flowering. I did a good inspection on her and did not see any male parts nor pollen anywhere.

Should I keep the SLH in the tent? ( with close inspection and removal of potential future male parts)
Finish flowering her in seperate cab, swapping her with another plant? (Current cab plant will go in tent, shes in first week of flower rn)
Cut down the hermie? :(
Cut down the hermie and the Holy Grail? :( :( :(

Bonjour
Next time it happen spray some water on the plants...it will remove a part of the polen!
Ghs do not have a bad reputation for nothing...but it seems like a light hermie so now that is done you can't go back...!
I would keep it like this and watch closely the slh...you will have free seeds in few weeks...maybe some of the best you ever grow who knows!?!
If you see that some new male flowers grow throw it away from your girl!

Thank you my French Friend!
I learned about the water thing a day too late lol. I removed it all pretty good though. Been checking on the SLH every few hours to watch for new balls..

You say a few weeks till seeds show? I read someone plucked out the tiny baby seeds as they started to develop.. I may do this if there's any actual pollinated buds. I will keep maybe one bud with seeds though. High chance of them being hermie as well though yes?

I'm feeling lucky though. Hopefully it's still a nice sensimilla crop!!! :D Prayers

Well, that happened pretty quick, huh? If you get any seeds you can just pinch the calyx out with the seed in it when you're trimming and nobody will know the difference as long as it's not full of seeds which I doubt since you caught it so quick. You'll probably only get a few seeds, if any. I'll grow the seeds out if you don't want to risk future hermies, ha ha :)

Were they feminized seeds or clones just wondering
The SLH that hermed started out as seed

Yeah I plan on growing a few out if they come! Hopefully I don't get any. I read that hermie pollen produces far less seeds than regular male pollen

You may still want to mist all the girls in the area. Pollen will sit and float around a bit. Water kills it.

I'd mist the walls and ground as well and then wipe dry.
Good idea! I just misted them with some plain h20. Hit the walls as well.

I agree with others on the spraying technique.. Do you have any idea why your plant went hermie? (bad genetics, stress, etc)
I have no idea. It could have been the tear in her main branch early in flower. I also changed the lights from 12/12 to 13.5/10.5 but the change was only in effect for 4 days before the flowers burst, and I doubt they developed that fast. Definitely wasn't a light leak, I had my fiance zip me up in it and shine a flashlight all over :D No leaks!
I did read a couple journals where their GH SLH hermied, but there was only a few out of a lot of good grows.

There's more pics in the thread in my sig.

Thank you everyone!

Cannabis in general has one sole purpose and that is to reproduce. By growing sinsemilla we're depriving it of it's genetic desire to procreate. Sometimes you do nothing wrong and they get pissed anyway. Otherwise some strains are more prone to it or ofcourse enviornmental stress can cause it to herm.

Plus the fact that it's Greenhouse seeds doesn't help. They catch a lot of flack. A lot of it has to do with the owner being a complete douche who lacks growing/breeding skills and ruins farmers landrace strains who have been growing precious genetics for centuries in tropical/subtropical climates among other atrocities. However it's also the fact they carry a lot of unstable genetics and falsely label certain genetics. On the flip a few of their strains aren't that bad but likely don't originate from the owner himself despite taking credit.

End of rant, lol.

I had two plants throw nanners last run. Pollinated the whole crop. I'm actually growing out some of the seeds from harvest now to see how their phenos compare to the original seeds purchased. Hope you make it through the rest of your grow with no more pollen. :bigjoint:

Dang brah, even the girls that may have caught some pollen.... I don't think you have to go the Hiroshima route for a couple bananas, ha ha. Arguably the best plant in my garden threw 2 nanners when I grew her from seed. I plucked them out and had no more problems after that and haven't had a single nanner from the clones. It's a Skywalker OG x Pipeline. I just trimmed some up the other day and it's an amazing plant that has the foulest smell I've come across and the high is great and it's pleeeeenty potent. The moral of the story is patience, sometimes it works out fine. If I had a plant that kept throwing nanners though it would get chopped for sure.

Good call on cannabis' desire to procreate, that is actually part of the purpose of every living thing.

I used to try to pollenate a lower branch or two of all my girls because I believed it would help keep plants from going hermie and finish faster. I don't know if either of those beliefs are true, but it made sense to me. I haven't been on my seed making game lately though and haven't had any problems with hermies, but I should get back to it just because I like making seeds.

And like you said, I do think GHS has some good strains. I've only grown one of their strains (it was a freebie) and it was ridiculously potent. I know their SLH is supposed to be great and I believe I read tyler.durden said their Trainwreck was his best seller. I'm sure they have some crazy too, but I think Arjan does worse damage to the company being an ass in most people's eyes than his genetics.

i guess the change in light time couldve contributed but I dont think with a short time that was for sure what did it. Sometimes a bit of bad luck is all it takes.
