RnD STEALTH CAB Questions !!!

Hey guys. Always have stealth cabs in mind. I think they are great for a lil' home grown present every now and then.

That said. I've always dreamed of making the most efficient version of one I can think of with 2 main requirements.

Stealth and Cost Rebate (how much to make vs how much weed I could produce in it per grow cycle)

Maybe together we can design something special ;) Tell your friends and lets get a solid thread going. I've got lots of ideas to discuss.

ITT: Ask me some questions, give me some advice. Just talk about some stealth cab ideas you've had or have, or use currently. Everything is fair. (lights, size, type etc.)

Thanks man. Def stop by. I'm just planning mine mostly now. Really not sure where to go for the most trustworthy seeds, but with a decent selection and reasonable prices.

well i ordered from attitude seed bank a week ago so ill keep you posted on their status. Local seed banks work too but i found they are overpriced and also i needed single seeds so i used attitudes pick n mix for my order.

The pick and mix feature is definitely fantastic. I would appreciate a sitrep on them :) Thanks man.

Newest problem. What is the 'perfect' cfl cab size? There has to be a point when the CFLs are at max potential per square foot. I'm just not that smart. Anyone have ideas?

we'll to be honest its anything thats too small for a HPS. it all depends on your situation to, alot of people dont wana fork out all the money for a hps + the cooling that comes with it (like me ). what size do you have available to grow? My cab is going to be about 3feet tall, 2 wide and 1 deep, im lighting it with 4 42W CFl's and 4 26 watt CFL's, do you think thats enough ? Thats 136w per square foot and 8900 lumen per square foot.:joint:
:peace:

Thats kinda the scale I've been considering myself. What sort of plant/harvest would you be expecting in something that size?

well not too sure what my yield is going to be but I think that if this system is tuned in with good strains and i grow it well im guessing like 2-3 o's max

So sort of numbers I was imagining. Would you be doing hydro or soil? I'm extremely partial to a nice soil grow, but I've seen incredible hydro stealth cabs before and I keep asking myself why not.

ill be growing soil. i would love to do hydro but i dont have the money to set it up, for a first grow i think soil is a good idea and i can go from there.

Ya my first was soil. I've always been partial to soil as a better smoke. Hydro just seems to be unbelievably good at filling a plant up.

Soil for me. I've been thinking of just making a mix of my own. Probably some basic soil and just a bit of peat moss and perlite.

I've been kinda wondering if some clay pellets on the surface of the soil would help moisture stay in the soil. It would definitely increase the amount of water the soil would maintain simply because the light would have a decent time drying out the pellets before it really effected the soil.

Hey, so newest question. What sort of soil should I be looking for. I've read a lot on here about Fox Farm and MG and home made mixes etc. But I've never really been able to figure out what is readily available to me. I live in a rural part of Canada and can't say I've ever shopped for soil etc.

Also, is it as simple as buying soil in a bag, or is it always necessary to add things like perlite and peat moss etc. to any soil for the best outcome??

got the same question, o and my seeds just arrived :) I was thinking of one of the organic soils at homedepot or just promix

Ya, I think I wanna try to get some organic nutes and stick away from the chemicals. Seems like on such a small plant that chemical nutrients are slightly overkill.

Not trying to jack this thread but thought I would show Harvey how I wired my light boxes. Receptacles that lug into the wall available at home depot or somewhere like that. Female cord plugs (to plug the receptacles into. The plugs are wired in succession, white to white, black to black and then collectively the same to an extension cord. All joints were soldered and heat shrunk to avoid ANY possibility of a short. Cord runs out the back of the cabinet and has enough slack to adjust the light all the way up or all the way down. Receptacles are mounted to a peice of plywood with U clamps and the wood is covered in alluminum tape. The sides are just a cheap sun visor from the dollar store cut and stapled to the side of the wood to create a hood.
Hope that Helps Lee Harvey. if Not, PM me and I can perhaps explain a little better.
Peace
