RIU links from Google search results broken

Hello, I am using Chrome on iOS.

Until recently, when browsing on mobile, when I clicked a RIU link from a Google search, it would bring up a tapatalk splash page where I could say 'no thanks' to installing an app and continue to the site.

In the last week, something changed along the line, and ALL rollitup links in Chrome on iOS load up a blank white page

I'm not sure if it's the 'smart banner' part that is messing it up or not. The site works fine in the browser once I visit directly, but missing out on Google traffic would suck I'm sure!

Cool - I figured someone would've seen it, but I wanted to post it just in case!

I wrote this a few days ago and never posted it. But I figured more explanations and information couldn't hurt.

I understand RIU is working on it. I just thought this might possibly help too.

I am using Chrome on Android and every Rollitup link takes me to a Blank Page. It seems to be happening with all Chrome releases on Android. I have just finished trying it on Chrome, Chrome Beta and Chrome Dev releases.

The only workaround that works for me is hitting the Menu Button and then checking the box for "Request Desktop Site".

This of course tales you to Desktop Mode and it can be quite daunting for some (with smaller screens).

All of the links that take you to the Blank Page (when using the Chrome browser in Regular Mode [not Desktop Mode]) contain "smartbanner" in the URL.

For Example:

In Chrome I put in a search for:

DIY scrubber Cannabis

This page was returned from the search:



When I click on the first RIU result in my search results, it takes me here:



I copied the URL from this Blank Page:

Then I went back to my search results and clicked on the next RIU link:

My Thoughts:

I think it has something to do with the "smartbanner" and/or "welcome.php" in the URL.

But that's just a guess.

I have a feeling it has to do with RIU's SEO, or the way RIU map's out how they want their pages to be listed in Google's searches.

Or, it could have something to do with that Tapatalk stuff that comes up when using Chrome's Mobile browser.

Actually, I always got those Tapatalk pages anytime I hit an RIU link until recently (when it started this problem with the Blank Pages).

So maybe RIU tried to remove (hopefully) or fix the Tapatalk page for Chrome's Mobile browser and accidentally messed it up.

I can't remember 100%, but something tells me that the "smartbanner" in the URL was also in the Tapatalk page that used to come up.
