RIU gone quiet last few weeks, Peeps slagging of Autos and LEDs

Well I'm gearing up for taking the next lot of Clones and starting Flowering of Mothers in the next 7 days..

So what's been happening in the World of RIU??

Seen a few posts totally slagging Autos off and LED?? what gives....I was under the impression that LED had come on by leaps and bounds and that peeps are doing good Grows with them...

Again same applies to Autos, I mean I knew(Read up) that the first generations of Auto was NOT so good, but seems you still getting some die-hard Photo period Fan Boys not too mention "Elitist" NOT my Words somebody else's..

Doesn't seem like a lot of Help to Newbs when the Thread(Question) just gets Hijacked by Peeps wanting to slate this or that...Which is even worse than when said "Newb" asks a simple Question and gets a reply a Neuro Scientist would struggle with...How the Fu*k is that helpful to someone just learning the Ropes.. K.I.S.S.

In the future I'm going to be taking a more laid back approach to my Visits and Post, even down to trying to help peeps(Well Newbs newer than me) LOL! still like RIU but in this game you gotta keep moving and learning.....So less Posting for me and more Reading up and experimenting with my Grows..will still keep in touch with Folks and Post...just won't be as much...

Big Thanks to all the Guys/Gals who have helped and pointed me in the right direction with a Few things..

People just get all high and mighty. Once they get a few grows under their belt they think theyre a fucking kingpin whos been growin for 20+ years who knows all there is about growing.

Some kid the other day tried to argue that Dyna-gro was a "snake oil" fucking crazy.

And those who have been growing for a long time can be stuck in their own ways. so if they grow with 1000w and hear they need all these expensive LED panels and to change their growing style they assume theyre garbage. And you cant blame them for the beginning nothing but shitty leds came out.

I know autos arent the best. But i grew one out a few months ago. Got a freebie, set up a mini cab, and grew a plant because i love growing. Got a good yield of some decent smoke, made some wax, had a good time. Thats what growings about, to me at least. Growin the plant i love the most.

If you truly love growing then you can grow anything.

Ive used HPS for about 7 years and recently made the switch to LEDs. Givin em a good run through to see how they stack up.

People just dont understand that growers are every shape and form. Some take a whole house and grow in it. Some make pc grow boxes. and everywhere inbetween

For people to hate based on someones choice in situation just shows how much they dont care about the community and only care about themselves.

Same goes with nutes or brands of lights/equipment. Just because someones dumb enough to pay 100 bucks for something i can get for 5 direct from china before a company slaps their name on it, doesnt mean its shitty or that your product is superior.

People just need to step down off their high horse and remember why were all here.

i questioned a guy recently that stated LED penetrate fairly deep, which went against what i had read. then i read a thread and a guy was talking about 5watt bulbs that i never heard of, thought the 3 watt was biggest offered. if that guy reads this, SORRY for my ignorance! what do you guys know about these 5 watt LED's?

3-5 watts are both good. Its better to have 5w because 99.99999% of leds are dimmed down so theyre roughly dimmed to about 3w.

They do penetrate pretty well if they have lenses. The panels im using right now dont and are supposed to give an extra 10-15% of light from not having a lens.

This also give me the ability to put my lights inches from the tops of the plants which ZERO quality LED brands can do because they all use lenses and have a minimal hanging distance which can cause your plants to be bleached if you get within that minimum.

Either way they both work. I do more of a SOG/LST style growing so the LEDs i have work best for me. But someone who grows 4-6 big trees would want ones with lenses so they can penetrate a little better.

I agree with you this site has lost a lot of great & knowledgeable Gurus. As far as simplicity goes, yes it's important and easy but knowing the science behind things is also important.
