In a true one-person-one-vote election, you'd be right. In some states the vote against Trump will be so overwhelming that it won't matter if people like AC choose not to go through extra hoops to obtain an absentee ballot. The stupid ass EC-winner or a state takes all system makes their votes irrelevant.

We have a parliamentary system in Canada and some ridings (districts) are overwhelming liberal like mine, I still vote though. There is an emotional argument to be made here, a statement of values and a protest against an obvious dictatorship and incompetent government. A person can be too particular about their preferences, missing the forest for the trees. Donald will count every vote against him and if he manages to win with a ten million vote deficit it won't look good at all, but I don't think that's possible. Donald is throwing one Helluva fucking into his base with mid west farmers fucked, dramatic price increases at Walmart and a teetering economy.
He'll only have his hardcore racist base voting for Trump by the time the democrats are done with him. Ramp up the pressure on the cocksucker, he's cracking wide open and showing his inner self when he does, the veneer of normalcy quickly drops away when he's challenged. The public hearings will steal the news cycle with dramatic public testimony and Donald will go completely nuts trying to distract the public.

I don't entirely disagree but absentee voting is an extra layer of hassle and I'm not enthusiastic enough to bother with all that for a candidate that is a lesser evil in a state that they will definitely win.

Trump doesn't have to leave if he wins. Trump doesn't have a choice in the matter if he loses. I would love to watch him being evicted. That would be quite a show.
