you know Im high and scribed man bongsmilie
love the veg area you were able to set up in there too. i have to lug all my plants from my veg space in my closet through the house to the storage lol so I definitely envy the luxury of everything being so close.
will be rad to see what c02 does for your plants this round too.
Glad to see ya B. Im feeling good about this round. So far so good. Theyll be gettin that co2 next week. Im excited!

wow what a shed
Thanks Tall

So after all the supercropping the plants recovered very quickly. Its amazing the diference from last rounds unhealthy plants rate of growth compared to this rounds. These babies are just f-ing going for broke. I swear I couldnt overfeed them if I wanted to. They are getting 1300 ppm right now with no signs of nute burn even on the leaf tips.
The screen thrown over the tops of the plants is working great. Im kinda doing every form of training in the book right now. Im pulling and tucking like a scrog, I super duper cropped them, Ind now Ive been lst'ing as theyve been stretching upwards to keep an even canopy. So far so good on all accounts. Ive also really been watching the rockwools wetness because of the stem rot last round and have been making sure the cubes get very near dry between waterings. Right now Im watering twice a day for 5 min which brings the water about 2 inches up the bottom of the cube and then they soak up a lot of water while the tray is draining. This seems to work well for me.
This last batch of sauce I mixed in 1 ppm of chlorine bleach. Ive been doing a lot of reading And it seems that most major greenhouses use this method to ensure no root rot or pythium probs. The only problem is you cant use any organic additives with beneficial bacterias. But if youre running a very simple mix like I am it has its benefits. Thank you Fatman7574 for all the knowledge on this use of clorox. He also has convinced me that all these beliefs that you need to keep your resevior at low temps is rubbish. Im not running a chiller at all and will have my res at the same temp as my room at all times. I will change my res. every two weeks and use between .5 and 1 ppm of clorox in my res every other day. So we will see how it works out.
Heres a pic of the knots forming from the supercropping
IMG_2039.jpg
and here you can see how far over I laid the plants. They would be at least twice as tall if they grew naturally.

And the mamas looking just about ready to give up some babies

Ill be flipping to flower next week. AND THE FUN BEGINS!!!

hey being this is a shed grow im assumin its a sealed box somewhere outside, i have a similar setup but no way near as legit. im just wondering how u keep the temps down. If the outside temp is 90+ i cant seem to keep it stable, im assuming its bc even with the intake its only pulling in airs that 90, nothing that could cool. Do you use an ac to climate control or are u blessed with fair weather constantly? im planning on puttin in an ac but was wondering if you had any good tricks to cool till then

Well up until now I was just using an eight inch vortex fan to turn over the air 3 times a min, But It was also winter to spring time (no problem with temp). I was actually using a heater. I just recently have been using a small 10000btu portable single hose ac, But the single hose ac doesnt work very efficiently it pulls outside air into the room. Also for 3200 watts it wont be enough later into summer. If you had less watts a dual hose ac or window unit would be much more efficient, being that they dont use outside air to cool the room. A good measure for ac needed is 4 btu per watt of lighting (1000watts=4000 btu ac minimum) assuming you have decent insulation. If not I would go bigger. To further help my situation being out in the valley I sealed up my shed and bought a mini split 2 ton ac (24,000 btu) so this requires co2 enrichment because no 105F air will come into the shed ever. This all was not cheap but I believe It will be very effective. If I didnt have the funds for all this I would have just ran a smaller window unit ac (craigslist $100 all day) and get the biggest you can find 220v is most efficient.
Like you said above if you are pulling in 90 or 100 degree outside air youll never cool the room. You could also try flipping the lights on at like 8 or 9 pm and running at night. Then a small ac would be more effective. Then the lights wont be working against you in the heat of the day. You can also slow down the intake/exhaust during the heat of the day because this would be your plants night and they dont need as much air turnover then. (not as much transpiration) That way your not pulling in as much hot air in the day. Even very small axial fans (computer style) 25 cfm or so could be enough depending on the cubic feet of your room.
all of this being said if its really f-ing hot where you live the best way to go if you have no cool air supply is to buy a huge overkill of an ac then insulate and seal up the room. Then your guaranteed happy healthy plants. I hope this helped out a little. Its not an easy fix, at least it wasnt for me. Good luck!

With a seal room, you shouldn't need to cool your res. it will remain at the seal room temp. you got plenty of cooling and i bet that res. solution is at the same temp. maybe a couple degrees higher from the heat of the pump. i thinking you've got this shit locked down real nice, and see a perpetual harvest the norm for you! looking stellar as usual man!

That sounds great. I feel like im gettin this shit goin pretty good now. Im really trying to stay as on top of things as I can, but Im also still very much in the learning curve. A lot of people on RIU try to say you should keep the res at like 68F and with the co2 running my room will be at 85F, but Im going with Fatmans theory that its bull shit and an old myth that needs to go away. Hes got a lot of knowledge if youve ever read his posts, theyre hard to follow sometimes. I even have to reread them to get it sometimes. He just recently posted a thread on how to make a few major companies nutes from scratch. tells you where you can buy the shit and everything.
anyway long story short (well kinda shorter) haha.I feel that his method of using chlorine bleach to stay up on pathogens and bacterias is the way to go and also keeping your res at room temp is just fine too. Maybe its a bad move to listen to these out of the norm theories but I just feel that hes more intelligent than the normal forum reading mj grower. Id like to consider myself an intelligent individual and would like to think that I can spot someone who knows there shit, And I think he does. So away we go, And I think great results are soon to come!

i think that if a person had no access to the internet, and possibly no phone, they could still grow some dank ass weed. there are many theories and method of thought. i'm from the "school of hard knock's", meaning that i had to make things myself. i didn't have the money to buy stuff, so i made it. after years of doing this, you become crafty. your thought processes become tuned. many people don't even know this site exists. i find that the most popular sites, such as this are plagued and riddled thoroughly with bad advice. i always find it refreshing to find people that are original, and skip the cut and paste bullshit, thats thrown around. long before these powerful search engines and grow sites, a guy just had to figure shit out on their own. they grew, watched, applied what their brain told them to do, and learned from their own mistakes. i believe that most people need to just try this. we live in this modern day add/adhd society where people need answers right fuckin' now!!!! i think its pretty exciting when we run into people that can think for themselves. we need to embrace these "friends" of thought. enuff said bout that.

i think you should flip. i think your root structure should be quite established. when you got healthy tops, you got healthy bottoms. its now time to turn that rapid growth into buds. your temps, and nutes are stable. any later, and you will be finishing in the heat of august. if you flip now, you'll be on your next turn come 09/10. this all, is of course, just my $.02

great shit capt. ^^
so much idle forum chatter that leads to bad advice. and you make a great point how there are plenty of growers who've never used the internet as an information source so they'd have to go through the motions themselves and actually learn to read the plant compared to internet tainted minds listening to bad advice and forum myths.

but about your plants Quick, I'd give them another day or two then flip. looks like you still have a lot of room to work with so a couple more days couldnt hurt. I just like to the reassurance that every branch is gonna be packin some decent weight but there's my .02

You are both so right, back about 7yrs ago when I was doin a small closet grow It was all about picking the brain of the guy at the shop that sold you the light and pretending that you were talking about tomatoes the whole time. I do have to say that its nice to have cool people like yourselves on riu to learn with and from.Just as long as you can see through the bull shit and myths Its a great place for sharing what you got growin.
Well it sounds like both of you agree that its pretty much time to flip so Im flipping tomarrow as soon as I get the new mini split ac and co2 generator hooked up and rollin. Perfect timing!

Without these sites I would still be vegging because a year ago I didn't even know to switch the photoperiod LOL!

Good luck bud hope all goes well...

Thanks CS I spent a lot of time and $ on this shed. Its hard when you know something could improve quality or yield not to go buy it immediately. And not to worry I am a newb for sure, just well educated brother.

good god man!!! those are some of the fattest Indica leafs I've seen in a LONG time.. sheeesh! How much Indica she got in her?? Is that a pure Indica??

Either way.. I'm scribed to this one.

I wish I was able to run that kinda wattage. But I'm too paranoid, plus I can't afford the bill. I've got 300watts of HPS (two 150's combined) and that does me alright. But, I was just thinking of how fatter and bigger my buds would be if I could.. :| But hey, its better than nothing.

Keep up the good work buddy...

peace.
