Hey
How's it goin
Pretty well over here other than I ripped my white widow's root while transplantingit.

I use these peat pellets to start my seeds
Works every time
This time it worked faster than i was prepared for
Seriously 3 days after i pit these seeds in the pellets I had a root coming out of the bottom of the cup.
Say whaaaaaaat
So me being the genius that i am decide hmm I better ttansplant these
Even tho tbey are 3 days old and have easily another 10 days before i should even be looking but Fuckit
I have these long ass stretchy stems
I don't like that so im gonna replant to bury it a little deeper

First one no problem just like every other transplant.
I fill my cup with a pellet pot in it
Remove the pellet pot
Pop my plug into the hole backfill little bit water done.

But then my wife calls me as im trying to get this plug out of the container
( new phone habent heard a phone ring in 10 years while im alone)
It startles me and I accidentally pull a little on my plug and desperate my peat pellet leaving some root behind

Now the true leaves have progressively turned yellow
Through the day
What was first a yellow line in now a yellow leaf.
Not the hey I need nutrients yellow
A sad you killed me you asshat kinda yellow.
It wont let me post a pic
Ill try to attach it

Point of the post.
Will a seedling that has had its tap root ripped off repair itself and flourish? Or will it always be a stunted sad reminder of my mistake

whatever you do IMO I wouldn't give her any nutes at all. but I might give her a bit of a spritz with a sprayer(water) for a few days until you've noticed the plant perking back up. But if she's still perky don't worry it should be fine. I've done the same thing taking a fresh plant out ot a cup, all the roots came off. so i put her in her own pot and gave a little spritz once or twice a day for about 7 days and it was fine.

Good Luck

yeah, as long as the main root is alright, it'll fill back in. it might take it a week or two to repair the damage, and you might lose the yellowing leaves, but it'll repair itself and start growing again soon....hmm, thats pretty small, you posted the pics after i started writing. it's 50/50 at that size, if it makes it the next few days, it'll do alright, but that's a lot of shock for a plant that small

Hi PV,
Hope your little plant makes it. That is the perfect argument for putting seed directly into medium...no paper towel shit.
JD
Is honestly why I started using the pellets
So far I've not lost one till now out of the 6 i started so far
Whereas before i was too often checking my towel to find they'd dried out
Now I put the bean in the pellet and forget about it till its a plant sticking out
Much simpler
Until I enter the equation that is

try soaking them for 4 or 5 hours in water with a few drops of h2o2, then planting them directly into their first pot. plant them about 1.5-2 inches down, and keep the soil lightly moist. they'll take about 3-5 days to pop, they should have the shell off, and be ready to start kicking ass.

yeah, i find if i go less than 1.5, they come up often with the shell still stuck on, then i have to try to get it off, and can potentially fuck it up. 1.5 to 2 and they come up open, shell and shell skin gone.
