Ripoff report?

Con artists & shady dealers will continue to be a bad problem until cannabis is 100% legal & capitalism does it's thing. I'm hoping we can get a few trusted members to "curate", aka regulate, a ripoff thread that focuses on recent ripoffs, true thefts, ghosting, & proven fakes, i.e., a thread to limit the damage.

I think it would be necessary to curate to keep competitors from trashing each other but more importantly to separate dud, slow delivery,low value, & low quality seed/clone deals from the true 100% ripoffs.

Any suggestions?
 
It would be nice if you could trust all the negative reports you see about seedbanks here, but some of them reek of insincerity. People know how valuable forums like this are for word of mouth advertising and a few strategic negative threads/reviews can cut into a seedbank's new business.
 
This forum doesn't catch/highlight the recent threats as it should IMO. Search for ripoff & you get all of the dud seeds, slow delivery, etc.
 
That’s the issue. You have to go through so many bad reviews because people are upset they didn’t get the “freebies” they were promised. Or the bank didn’t respond to them quick enough. Or the mail will take too long.

I did my own research. Found a plant I liked. Researched the breeder then made my purchase.
 
I've grown 30 yrs did bagweed seeds until 2010. Since then spent 1000's and 1000's on seeds. Been beat twice on small purchases once Van Isle Seed CO sent 90$ MO never seen anything (2012) I think. Last year I got beat on a MO sent to DCSE tracking said return to sender GONE. But I don't blame DCSE since I have had good trans. w/them. All other places(Attitude,SeedsHereNow,Greenpoint,SeedsForMe,OregonGreenSeed,CopyCat Gen.,SeedCellar,BCBD,GTASeedbank,and evenVan.Seedbank) I've always gotten my orders.ccguns

What prompted this for me was reading the thread where Dank Stank didn't give a tracking #, claimed the shipment was snagged, promised reshipment, then ghosted the buyer. I don't know Dank Stank but he/she seems to be pretty well known under another name. The point is I would like to get RECENT ones highlighted. That might change similar practices.

It also might aggregate the complaints of the con men. It's one thing to see one guy complain, it's another to see 3 recent complaints from recent buyers.

buying seeds has always been a crapshoot and there is just too much out there now I'm glad I have a lot of experience and kind of know what I want. I'd hate to be just starting out w/no knowledge with the seed market being what it is now. Especially if I was a tent guy on a budget looking to pop a couple of seeds.

True. I almost bought from the guy in Hawaii that pretends to be a Hawaiin guarding the genetics. I am spending a lot of time trying to figure out the players in Strainly. Be nice to see a thread with a list of definite scammers.
 
Funny you said Hawaii, I didn't include that last year I grabbed some seeds 1/2 price from Pua Mana Ohana, I got them they were ElectricDuckBuddaz (they germed 10 regs) but I had a dampening off prob and never grew to maturity but I didn't get beat, though I do hear a lot of drama concerning them.ccguns
 
Probably not feasible it appears although I'm sure ppl would enjoy being able to go to a quick hit "Stay Away" list.

Yep. I think you mean Kerry "Pua Mana Ohona" Emerson Roberts orIginally from Oregon. I'd never buy from that guy.
