RIP Rush Limbaugh

Questions like, "Is my asshole punched or bored"? Tucker reads a script, way more than Rush, who just had talking points for guidance and winged it. I think more focus should be placed on those who write this crap and they work the mouths of many different talking heads.

They need to teach rhetoric and civics in high school along with mindfulness training (mindfulschools.org) for emotional stability and to build empathy. Half the population can't tell fact from opinion because half the population is below average intelligence, education can help, but not much, there is still no cure for stupid.
they can't tell fact from opinion because they don't know the English language lacking comprehension skills hence Trumptards 'Fake News'..the imbecile clearly doesn't know the difference (with his IQ of 78 and 100 count word base) that words have meaning; intent and people write opinion pieces; they can be on the front page. he literally can't bring himself to say 'opinion' but that's because he doesn't allow anyone to have one when he's around. what he says is all that matters. he pretends he knows nothing about AZ 'oh i hear they found votes in NH'..he is going to work this like a bone..mark my words..somehow get someone to say something, anything about AZ and that he won..he needs to be gone, gone- now.

Putins not getting his money, what's he waiting for? Putins stupid too because the longer Trumps around the more opportunity we have for Trump to puke it up.

With so many fortunes so dependent on keeping it that way. :)
Yep social division and grid lock, the only movement was to ratchet to the right. I wonder how much money Joe Manchin is collecting these days as a road block to change? Manchin doesn't want to get rid of the filibuster cause it's giving him cover, he won't have to publicly vote against the stuff the people in his state like. The "traditions" of the senate are far more important than an abstract thing like majority rule. They better pass HR-1 or there will be a billion bucks dumped on the GOP in no time flat. Dark money also puts American politicians on the international market, for sale to the highest bidder. He's against DC statehood too, it would destroy that delicate balance of power that he's making money off. Last of the blue dogs, if the democrats win more senate seats in 2022, he'll be a dead fucking dog.

So where does Joe Rogan fit into this? There are some podcasts to stupid for me to listen to - his is one of them.

Could Rogan have existed before Limbaugh greased the slide to dumbness?

I literally have never listened to a minute of his show but I picture it as being a bastion of low grade thought that would appeal to the sort of people who think that George Carlin was a political theorist.

Don't get me wrong about Carlin. Funny guy. If he were alive I think he would be appalled at the sort of people who trot out his political thoughts as deep and insightful. The guy spoke some truisms to be sure but I suspect he would characterize our current situation as making his gripes seem trivial.

Discovered a podcast recently that is pretty good: "Behind the Bastards" - the back story to some of the world's worst people. Limbaugh has some episodes to be sure but there are so many bastards who don't yet (I'm talking about you Edison, Lindbergh and Henry Ford). I listened to three episodes of the hosts reading and critiquing Ben Shapiro's 2016 pathetic work of fiction True Allegiance. I nearly peed my pants laughing.

If everyone is just hustling, you have to admit he’s pretty good at it. He saw a new medium and turned a podcast into a $100MM deal. I don’t really know what his politics are, but normalizing weed into a program is a plus.

i hate Manchin he should just give it up and say he's GOP..since Uncle Joe is taking the show on the road i think the first stop should be WV and he should spend a week there letting the good folks of that state know that they're not going to get what's behind door #1 if their buddy doesn't vote it.

his cover's blown.

You got me thinking about Rogan.

I had listened to him talk for hours nonstop for about a decade, I even liked him back when he was on News Radio, but then again I had like 4 channels to watch so it was a pretty low bar.

I would be curious who books the conspiracy theorists that he uses his platform to spread their propaganda to the masses. It could just be that Dana White, Rogan, and a handful of the m.m.a. fighters who are all MAGA now are all down the rabbit hole, but it was too specific of scams that were being pushed onto him for it to be random (IMO).

Then I think you are right, I don't know about Rush, but all the nonsense morning talk radio during the mid 90's is when I was listening to it while driving. That or sports talk. So while I don't know about listening to Rogan talk outside of UFC announcing, I can perfectly here him talking about all of this conspiracy shit, clear as a bell. I am not sure if maybe Stern gives us Rush, and Rush gives us political hate 'news'.

But basically I think I am wired to hear Rogan talk about anything bullshit related and have a good time doing it. Which is why I avoid his podcasts like the plague.

He just got reelected and is safe for 6 years, he doesn't give a fuck because he knows how stupid the people of his state are. If the democrats can win a few more senate seats in 2022, they can make him a solemn promise that his state won't see a fucking dime for as long as he's in the senate. If nothing gets done, it will be down to one person, Joe Manchin.

He's like the others like FOX, OAN, Newsmax, etc, including many YouTube videos, this bullshit sells and gets views. You could have him and clowns taking about UFO's and they will beat a science show about it hands down. Listening to science, facts and abstract concepts is much harder than blaming the men in black for it. Einstein said, the most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious, but that can be difficult and often takes effort, they seek simple definitive answers and someone to blame.

They mistake simple propaganda for true knowledge, a common phenomena among the ignorant and lazy.

Now I can't figure out if Stern is not the hand behind all of this bullshit we find our current social climate.

x degrees of Kevin Bacon'ing this mess.

Stern opens up American to mainstream bullshitting.

Stern has Trump on who brags about a 12 year old Paris Hilton.

Paris Hilton gives birth to a whole new level of debauchery that births the world to 'the Kardashians'.

Which not only links us to Kayne, but also re-introduces the world to her step dad.

Who not only was mocked ruthlessly on South Park as Mr. Garrison's Trump VP running mate, but now is running as a Republican in California pushing the story that the Republicans really need to somehow get manufactured of 'trans-athletes'.

Maybe all those people who wanted Stern to not have a platform actually had the right idea.

The internet has lowered the lowest common denominator into the ditch and made it possible to gather large numbers of idiots and ignoramuses together. Before Rush had to have his free programs broadcast by hundreds of AM radio stations across America. Now they can have a podcast.

W VA is a very conservative state and Manchin represents them. I have no problem with that. If he were MY senator, I'd hate him and I'd be working hard to get a better Senator in his seat. One alternative that the GOP offered W Va was a guy who had been convicted for breaking health and safety regulations in his coal mines that lead to the death of people who worked for him. The guy never even acknowledged his fault in the accident. The guy who won the GOP primary was a lobbyist for Cardinal health, one of the companies responsible for W Va's opioid addiction crisis.

So, I'm glad Manchin is a Democrat, I'm glad he's the Senator of W Va and I'm glad the GOP's guy is not there.

Thats the thing, Rush had a captive audience as they all sat in their cars on their rides home from work for decades without much competition at all.

Now with podcasts you don't have to even bring people together, it is much easier to divide them off into their own particular niche corner and radicalize them there.

I only know Rogan from co-hosting The Man Show on Comedy Central, after Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla left, though I've heard he's popular online now. He stunk on The Man Show, so I stopped watching. Not everything works, especially in comedy. There are advantages to not having TV.

Corolla is a twat. Of course he is getting popular.
