right amount of plants for space

Hello everyone this is going to be my first post here....Hopefully more to come...A little background, right now I'm growing a single northern lights auto that is my experimental first grow..it has around 2 or 3 weeks of flowering left I think...Its not the best but I'm learning from you all everyday.

I'm looking to ask for some advice from you...I have a 20 inch x 3 foot grow tent 55 inches high... I was wondering what the best way was for me to get the most yield from my space. Fitting more plants means I need smaller pots which means I will have smaller plants which means I get less yield...Or I can go with just a few big plants and big pots..So which way do you think I would get an overall bigger yield?

Either way I'm going to go with a screen of green setup... I'm worried that 20'' width is only enough for one row of plants...but I've seen videos on youtube with people putting 6 plants in the same space I have...and then some with just one giant tree like plant in the middle.

Another concern I have is the amount it would take to grow said tree plant...Prob longer veg time then I would like...Anyway any input is useful to me thank you!

I don't do all that scrogging, SCROG, etc. I just let mine grow however they want. I'm a personal stash guy so one plant in the oven at a time keeps me covered up in good smoke. I have a 3X3 tent that I use and a 4X4 that I break out now and then. In the 3X3 I can only fit one mature plant. Tried growing two in there many of times but I came to learn one great plant is better than two shitty plants that never reach their full potential. Give it time. You'll learn through trial and error what works for you and what doesn't.

hmm interesting...no veg chamber....Right now I have a small cabinet grow that could be a veg chamber but its only 2 feet high with cfls and wont get much vegging in there...I was going to use the cabinet to start my seedlings and when big enough move them into my tent. I want to use soil/pear lite mix that I used the first time..seems to be working well for me and I get good drainage. Also using fox farm nutes. Also forgot to mention I bought an hps and mh 400 watt light hood thats vented for decently cheap on ebay, an inline fan with 4 inch ducting, and a carbon filter thing for the fan. and I have the scrog screen already.

Soo I'm thinking Im going to just start with 2 plants in the biggest pots that I can fit and just scrog them out...since I have 55'' of height they can get pretty tall...What do you think?

The 55" isnt as much height as u would think.
Figure the hood and everything is 10"
U have to be a safe distance away so maybe a 30" plant including the pot.

Go ahead with the scrog, remember that smart pots will allow you to go smaller so I would do like 5-7 gallons in there maybe even 10. You could clip clones from all the undergrowth you trim off below the screen right before you flip and it takes let's say about two weeks to grow roots then you veg in 16 oz cups for a week then you go to 1 gallon for 2-3 weeks and top for 4 colas, that's about 6 weeks there. If you don't have the space just grow the bet looking clone and you could just constantly put in 1 plant in a perpetual harvest mode. You could also run a SOG in that space 2 liters straight to flower as soon as they show roots, and just keep a bonsai mom with the clones in that little veg space. Could fit 3-4 per sq foot, and add them in batches 1 sq foot a week and boom you have a perpetual as well lol
