reviving the IRC channel

there used to be a live chat button at the top of the home page but now all we have is the sticky in this section for the irc channel. i connected to it and was sadly the only one in there! :( i'm hoping we can get the site owner's attention so he might make the irc channel more visible without having to search for it.

what do you guys think? would you like a live chat? the only forum i've seen with a live chat is ridiculous they ban you if you mention you intend to grow more than 10 plants loll. very nooby community.
