Return to 12/12 from seed in small pots.

Hey ms, that's a promising start. Some proper nice buds from the SW reveg too!
Loved the background info you posted and I wonder if the grower you were following turned into the Ceres seedbank? I always wondered how you came to develop your style and skills.

I never had any luck with pressed apples but I have a very nice recipe for v12's couchlock scrumpy :)
Either way you do it, it will take about a month to ferment and at least a month to age. I'll pm you the recipe later.

wont get much outa there but i gotta say man that is a legit little closet
Thanks glassblower, there's many of us PC case/stealth cab growers here who get just what we need from these small grows, and the challenge of doing it this way is what binds us together here, it can be demanding but its fun. "Quality over Quantity" should be the motto of the RIU micro growers :-)

Had a busy day kind of :-) .... been smoking some lovely 'Trainwreck', a generous gift of which arrived this morning... big thank you to we know who :-) Only had a little so far but its a nice clear heady stone, very strong in the head but enjoyable :-) My face feels like it glowing too!

Also planted the two Nirvana Master Kush seeds, both showing a nice healthy root. Here's a couple of shots of the Snow White and the 2 Kush snug in thier little humidity domes.

23rd August 2010.

48 hours later and both Kush are out the ground and looking strong. I prefer to let them shed those shells naturally but sometimes I help them out, but I'll leave it a couple more days :-)

I'm still bottom watering the Snow White and I should see pre flowers any day now. Growth rate is good so far and I'll work at keeping her short during the 2 week stretch by gently pinching and bending over the main growing top if internodal spacing begins to open up. So far shes very tight.

V12, Yes Ceres is the seed breeder today. That thread caused a bit of a stir as some were convinced that mulitplanting and 12/12 would not work, but the pictures told the story from day 1 to finish. Some really big buds, and some not so big but overall the grow produced an excellent harvest, he called it the 'Dutch method' and I just had to try it for myself.

Thanks SICC :-) I was inspired by your amazing 'Party Cup' grows to go back to using small pots again, although these are about 1.5 litres of soil. I just feel like I have more control over the roots, especially as I can remove the cover to see them or to gauge the moisture in the soil. If I get anything like as good as you did in those cups I'll be very happy :-)

SB, these seeds are all Nirvana, cheap and reliable from long experience. I never actually used Ceres seeds I just followed his thread and method.

Thats great SICC, I will catch up on your thread. I must have another look at those root shots of yours too, taken after harvest, they were just amazing and a lesson to anyone who says rootbound plants dont flourish :-)

OK, well I wanted to keep this grow very clinical but I cant resist naming my plants! The Snow White has now been christened 'Doris' and shes now showing preflowers so I'll record this as day 1 flowering :-)

Some more pics including a rootshot of Doris. She lapping up my fishy water from the bottom, I'm watering far less than normal, its taking her around 30 minutes to take up the water and those roots look healthy. When I water I fill a container, add the water and turn on an airpump to bubble it as the plant feeds :-)

Heres some pics of the 3 plants. I'm going to name the 2 Master Kush babies 'Violet' and 'Grace' after two of my late Aunts, lovely old fashioned names :-)

I also plan to add one more strain and I'm very tempted to go for a 'cheese' strain. I lost my lovely Exodus mother some time ago and want to grow a cheese again but I really need to stick with seeds now so will have to compromise a bit on that.

Hi there MS,

That Snow White looks real good, nice colour man. It's good you give them names I use to do it but lost the habit. By the way, do you remember when did you plant the SN ? around the 1st of August ?

Could you also tell me the height of those MK ? It's just that I've got a plant myself that is 12cm (4.7in) after 5 days from opening the cotyledons and was wondering why. How about those MK ? They also look a bit tall for that size of the leaves.

Thanks Gumball, I'll take a look at that :-) I want to get as close to the original clone as I can and I do know for a fact that original UK cheese clones were smuggled to Amsterdam quite a few years back because I knew the grower who did it! of course he may be just one of several but I want to try to find out where those clones actually went. He wanted to keep the clone only strain going over there but soon it was being sold in seed form and there are a few to choose from now.

Hi lince,

yes I'd say around 3 weeks for the SW, thats also the average to show sex on a 12/12 from germination grow like this.

As for the MK, I dont worry about lanky seedlings myself, I'd say about 4" right now but I'll bury the stems a little more if I need to, they stop when theyre ready :-) What I have found over the years is that the deeper you bury the seed and the more they have to fight to the surface the shorter they stay, have you found that? To keep them really short in the past I have even 'coiled' that stem until only about an inch is left showing and that producs very short stocky plants but you have to do it carefully.

*Edit* Just took a snap against a rule of the 2 NK's (I'll add it later), they are 3" and 2.5" so shorter than I thought!

I'll be able to check this myself in around 3 weeks :) with the seeds I've just put in 12/12. Looking forward to it.

I didn't know that about putting them deeper, I always try to put them as close to the surface as I can so they show themselves asap, I'm really impatient hehe
Will put some a little deeper sometimes and see if I can appreciate any difference :)

Thanks for the tip ;)
