alright, haircut done, neem oil sprayed, entire flower room bleached and washed down. H2O2 regiment will be started. hopefully i can have a update in a couple days. havent really updated much since everything has been going to shit and have been too busy to get it right.

Hola, Mr. Brute - I just wanted to chime in prod you not to give up on 'dro, yet (beauty of a rhino you had there). Have you considered trying Dutch Master Zone instead of H2o2? I am not sure what your cost will be on a monster water sucker (I only run a few 5 gallon buckets independently (1ml of DM Zone per gallon at each res change)), but I am a recent convert from H2o2 myself, and I have to say I am greatly impressed by DM Zone. I will also say though, that it is not really intended to get along with organic material, so I run a "dead reservoir" with three part General Hydro Flora and nothing else, no bennies, no teas, no H2o2.

SUBBED UP BRETHREN. ill be following along going to be switching to a rdwc system too i have been running soil indoors for the last couple years and just got back off a county trip. so im gonna take this opprotunity now that nothing is running to build a 16-20 site rdwc system almost exactly like that your runnin... whats your rez temps bro? iv been reading if your water is too warm it can cause the sludgy "root slime" rez temps should be around 60 degrees i think... but i have no real experience in hydro besides my homemade 30 site areocloner and my cuts were only in there for 2-3 weeks max before i transplanted to soil.

i havent really checked rez temps but it stays pretty cool down in my basement. its cold outside right now where im at and the basement stays around 60...ill check the temps in a few and get back to you going to do a few pics of everything.

SFguy...i changed to hydro for the exac same reason...i was sick of buying bag upon bag of soil...also espoma garden tone and perilite....one bag of soil amended was costing me around 35 bucks...so i converted to hydro after a decent run in a plain DWC bucket...i do tell you its alot diferent but i do like it. still fairly expensive to buy the nutrients but overall i feel costs are down a small amount. if i cant seem to get it to work right ill be going back to soil and using my pumps and rez to setup a automated watering system. one of the things i hated most about soil was having to take every plant out of the room and water them into a bucket...huge pain in the ass, now i just take the ole garden hose to the rez and top it off every 1-2 days.

ya i think my neighbor were wondering why i had stacks of planter pots and my garden beds were overflowing with soil every couple months.. it got to the point that i couldnt dump it at my house anymore, and didnt want to reuse it so i was filling friends gardens then just plain ol filling the garbage cans and having to literally make trips to go dump it somewhere els.. i was always sketched about that... adn plus transplanting from 1g pots to 3g pots to 5g pots was always a PITA. seems more logical to me

hey brotha... i setup a semi-automatic watering system theres pics in my thread (2200 watt goood neighbor grow).. i just had to mix my juice then turn on the sump pump on the sump pump (1300gph) i had a hose attached and watering wand.. it made watering a breeze and easy to get into tight to reach places.. but i found it made me lazier with the plants toward the back of the room and in turn they were neglected... the closer plants always got more attention than the ones toward the back. cause i wasnt having to move everything and then put it back.

I ran this in my 8 site even after I got my chiller.

This is like a nuke for your water zone, no bacteria will remain, good or bad.

ill look into the dutch master stuff..right now with hollidays about $$ is pretty tight.

i run dyna grow bloom. so benies arent a major concern of mine.

well not sure if i have said anything about this yet but i will be converting my veg tent 4 site RDWC into a normal 4 site DWC. i think this is going to be a huge help...everything in my veg tent is looking pretty shitty, hoping after the conversion i can save them.

Hey Brute - once again, I 'juana say I agree with your choice. I can't tell you how much easier it is for me as a noob to keep everything simple stupid. Independent buckets, no organics, a good sterilizing additive, and lots o' air (or agitation - I hear you, flumers & anti-airstoners, and I believe, but I like me bubbles anyway)!

well the blue rhino is down for the count. on top of all my other problems i guess one of my plant hermied...so it was pretty seedy...i personally dont really care though as i think it was still a nice harvest and had i known i probabally would have left it alone anyways. no sense in throwing away this..

also got my veg tent setup for DWC, dumped all the plants that were in there and replaced with fresh clones.

my flower cab is not looking to well after last weeks extermination of the mites and root rot. going to let whats .in there finish up and in the mean time convert to just a 4 site RDWC, then get a Scrog screen and work on Scrogging 4 plants, i think this will best utilize my equipment and light. it will also allow me to have my veg tent shit down for about a month between crops. wont be perpetual but i will have plants ready to go into the ScROG as soon as i harvest.

also going to plant my last pineapple express bean, pray its a good pheno. i have a 2ft t5 unit that would work perfect for keeping a mother in a dwc bucket.

anyways long story short, i jumped into this hydro shit after 1 sucessfull DWC grow thinking it was going to be ez mode and have come across every shitty problem there is. will work through it though im sure.

on a side note i found out what was wrong with my veg RDWC system..the pump was not pumping water like it should have been. i took everything apart and the filter on the pump was utterly disgusting, almost made the ole lade vomit haha. i bet that was just some bacteria colonized and keeping my rez contaminated, had i gave that a thourogh cleaning when i re vamped my drain last weekend i probabally would have been in the clear..

to all of you looking into starting hydro, if you think its LESS work, its not...its just as much if not more. maybe once you get your shit down that will change

lesson learned, just picked up a bag of pro mix and FFHF. probabaly going to start a new thread because neither of my systems will be hydro anymore so the title is a bit misleading.


i guess i just dont have the time to maintain the hydro system working 60+ hours a week...i will however be using my hydro equipment to rig up a watering system. i will still have to remove each plant from the grow room but i will just set it on a platform and flip the switch...the pump will do the rest.

once my htdro nutrients are all gone ill probabally be going back to organics as i prefer this method in soil.

DAmn buddy, sorry to hear that. Lesson learned, it just sucks you drown all that cash into that hydro conversion.

live and learn, hydro is great for people who can afford to run it and have the time to maintain it, soil is great for people without a ton of time and a lower budget.

at first i wanted to switch to hydro because of cost but seems like to do it right it is alot more money on different shit...either way im actually pretty happy to go back to soil..

just built a 54x36' ScRog screen

both hydro systems have been broken down and some buckets of sirt have been put into play. fox farm happy frog and pro mix 50/50. The 32x32 tent has been switched to the 600w HPS bulb to finish flowering the last plant i had that lived in the flower room and the big tent/room has been put on 18/6 and the 1000w MH bulb has been put in. ill post up a link to my new thread later on today.

Not true about your hydro comment. Hydro is rather easy once you have a infrastructure in place and a plan. You were trying to move buckets down an assembly line every week, so that is going to require some work. With that kind of a setup then yes soil would be better as you can move the pots down your assembly line. The only way to do that with Hydro would be independent buckets and no RDWC. This way you can move the buckets down the line and just unplug the air line and plug it into the one down the line. Still though some work as you would have to top off the buckets daily all the way down the line.

I did the same thing man. I just recently killed my last lady from the ORIGINAL line I started...as radeon. lol. I am BACK TO SOIL TOO BABY! i got a few decent harvests with my dwc setups, but i agree with all sentiments mentioned on this thread, that once you have it down it may be just as easy if not easier than soil, but shit when theres other things going on in your life, its just too tough to maintain all that. a lot of my harvests looked similar to your rhino - the its almost as if it went back and forth between flower and veg - that weird tip on the cola just kept growing, but the rest of the flowers filled out...also had the root slime and spider mite issues. just not as fun and not as proud of the end product. I remember when I first started doing soil and marveling at how easy it was to get really nice lookin ladies. BACK TO THE BASICS. I have 8 sprouted currently, kind of offset from each other, 4 just popped above the soil and a couple are young and very bushy, short internodals, and very spiky cause i keep my basement at 35% rh. i will b starting a new thread soon, just a little logging journal. ive got to sex the 8 lil ones and hopefully get at least one lady. then i will be taking a clone from her and flowering. rinse and repeat - take a clone from a newly growing lady clone in veg and then flower her. one at a time. keep it simple and easy - makes watering easier and repotting when necessary down to a short maintenance window. i pulled almost a qp off one plant before, and if i can get that quality/quantity again off one lady, i will be happy.

i just re-read the radeon threads a few days ago - what a funny thing. reading back through our progress - starting with hydro was like starting all over again. maybe some day when there is more time, but for now stickin with the tried and true. good to see ya again man! keep up the great work!
