Resin production help?

Hey guys this might be a lil confusing here, but my question is those the resin production of a plant, does it depend on the nutrients or is it the seed of the strain? I'm asking because I see some growers that have top strains and have nice resin production but others with the same top strain dont.

Im just gunna say, white widow for eample, if you grow it from herbies, it will be different if you grew shantibabas widow, because the herbie is different, probably bred with a different plant, different seed banks have different plants because its their own version, you need to find the correct seed bank if your a growing connoisseur

Has a lot to do with the lights too. My led light is always way frostier and stickier then my hps.

You could have the best genetics in the world and grow the plant so poorly it wouldn't matter. You could also be an expert grower with poor genetics and grow the plant perfectly and get shit results because the potential was never there.

Cool thanks man, do you have any recommendations for good seed banks?

herbies lately, I think that seed bank has been the best so far, i like that site aswell it has nearly every strain on it except for australian seeds, but if you want old school sativas I suggest you try southern star seeds

Cooler lights or weather whatever the case may be brings out the pigments in the plant giving it better colour and production

A mate of mine grows duckfoot, his dad does too, his dad can only produce a 4 foot duckfoot and the smoke isnt too good, whereas my mate gets a 12-13 foot duckfoot and the smoke is superb

Although it is important to have high quality genetics; It is the grow methods, and proper application of nutrients that make the difference that you asked about.

2 different growers using the same strain, but with different grow techniques, lighting, nutrients, etc, etc; Will produce entirely different results, in general. :)

trichomes are the plants version of sunscreen from UVB. plants grown close to the equator and at higher altitudes generally have more trichs.

UVB Sources:
UVB 10 Reptile Bulbs (T5, T8,T12, CFL)
Arcadia UVB T5 Bulbs
Tanning Bulbs UVB 10 (6ft T12's)
MH, CMH, and some other bulb types put out a very small amount of UVB, but that is usually mostly worthless as the 2+ layers of glass greatly filters it.

Sulfur Sources:
Sulfuric Acid (PH down replacement)
Epsom Salts (magnesium sulfate)
Calcium Sulfate
